Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari recently said that Indian pilgrims to Kailash Mansarovar will no longer have to go via China or Nepal as a new route from Uttarakhand will be operational by the end of 2023.

The new route through Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh will save pilgrimages from the arduous journey that they have to undertake and cut the travel time from 3-4 weeks to just about two weeks.
