অজানা বাঁকের হাতছানি, উড়ে আসা মেঘ, দিগন্তে কাঞ্চন আর পাইনের জঙ্গল ঘেরা ছোট্ট গ্রাম কাফের। উচ্চতা ৫২০০ ফুট। কালিম্পং জেলার লাভা বা লোলেগাঁওয়ের কাছে এই কাফের পর্যটকদের কাছে পরিচত হয়ে উঠলেও এখনও এই জায়গাকে অফবিটের পর্যায়তেই রাখা যায়।

এই কাফেরগাঁওতে একটি ফুল পাওয়া যায় যার লেপচা নাম ‘কাফের’। এখান থেকেই গ্রামের নাম হয়ে যায় কাফেরগাঁও। চারিদিক সবুজে মোড়া এবং পাহাড়ি পাখিদের ব্যস্ততার মাঝে দুটো দিন অলসে জীবনযাপন করতে চাইলে কাফেরগাঁও হল সেরা ঠিকানা।

কাফেরগাঁওতে মূলত বাস লেপচাদের। তবে এই পাহাড়ি জনপদে স্থানীয় ঘর-বাড়িও হাতেগোনা। হোমস্টেতে বসেই দেখা মিলবে তুষারবৃত কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘার। হোমস্টেতে জানালায় কফি হাতে দেখতে পাবেন স্লিপিং বুদ্ধার কোলে সূর্যোদয়। সৌন্দর্যমণ্ডিত এই ছোট্ট গ্রামে দূষণ নেই, কোলাহল নেই, ব্যস্ততা নেই, আছে শুধু অপার শান্তি। সুখানুভূতি আর প্রাণভরে নিশ্বাস নেওয়ার জন্য দেদার অক্সিজেন।

উত্তরবঙ্গের পাহাড়ে বেড়াতে গিয়ে একদম কিছু না করে দুটো দিন শুধু অলসভাবে কাটানোর জন্য কাফেরগাঁও আপনার আদর্শ স্থান হবেই।

এখানেই রয়েছে আমাদের সহযোগী হোমস্টে, The Forest Cabin। পাইনের জঙ্গলে ঘেরা কাঠের চারটে সুন্দর কটেজ। ঘর থেকে সুন্দর দেখা যায় কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা। তবে বর্ষাতেও এর রূপ মনভোলানো।

থাকা-খাওয়া নিয়ে এখানে রাত্রিবাসের খরচ এক একদিন এক একজনের ১৫০০ টাকা করে।

উত্তরবঙ্গের পাহাড়ে পরতে পরতে লুকিয়ে আছে সৌন্দর্য। গত কয়েক বছরে অজস্র নতুন নতুন অফবিট জায়গার উত্থান হয়েছে পাহাড়ে। এমনই কিছু অফবিট জায়গার সন্ধান দিলাম আমরা।

যে কোনো দিন চলে যেতে পারেন এই সব অফবিট জায়গাগুলিতে। চিরাচরিত সার্কিটের বাইরে এই জায়গাগুলিতে রাত্রিবাস করলে আপনাদের অনন্য অভিজ্ঞতা হতে বাধ্য।

এমন তপ্ত দিনে চলুন একটু পাহাড়ের গল্প বলি। অন্য সময়ের পাহাড় কিন্তু নয়, একেবারে খাস বর্ষার পাহাড়।
কী বললেন, বর্ষার পাহাড় মানে প্রবল বৃষ্টি? বর্ষার পাহাড় মানে রাস্তার সমস্যা?
আচ্ছা, আমি বলি কী, এই নেতিবাচক চিন্তাভাবনাগুলো একটু দূরে সরিয়ে নতুন কিছু দেখার চেষ্টা করুন। কী দেখছেন বলুন তো?
হ্যাঁ, ঠিকই দেখছেন। সবুজের বিশাল বড়ো একটা ডালি নিয়ে পাহাড় আপনার জন্য অপেক্ষা করে রয়েছে। সেই সবুজে একদিনে যেমন চোখের আরাম তেমনই মনেরও শান্তি।
জানেন তো বর্ষায় পাহাড় কোনো ভাবেই স্বর্গরাজ্যের থেকে কম নয়। যে দিকে চোখ যাবে শুধু সবুজ আর সবুজ। চা বাগানগুলি মন কাড়বে। পাহাড়ের ঢাল বেয়ে ধাপে ধাপে নেমে যাওয়া এই বাগানে মাঝেমধ্যে মেঘ এসে ঘিরে দেবে চারিদিক। আবার কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যেই সে সরে যাবে, আবার বেরিয়ে পড়ছে সবুজ বাগিচাগুলো।
এ ছাড়া বর্ষার এই সময়েই তো পাহাড়ি ঝরনাগুলো নিজেদের স্বমহিমায় দেখা দেয়, ফুলেফেঁপে ওঠে পাহাড়ি নদীগুলি।
একটা জিনিস কল্পনা করুন। একটি পাহাড়ি নদীর খুব কাছের একটি কটেজে আপনি রাত্রিবাস করার সুযোগ পাচ্ছেন। বিছানায় শুয়ে শুয়েই উপভোগ করছেন সেই নদীর আওয়াজ। কেমন হবে সেই অভিজ্ঞতা? দারুণ হবে নিশ্চয়ই!
তা হলে আর দেরি কেন? চলুন বেরিয়ে পড়ি একসঙ্গে…

1) B***r Pakhi trip is a women's special trip that will happen in Manikpara, Jhargram. In this trip we would explore lesser known places in Jhargram and Paschim Medinipur.

2) Silk Route Trip will be expanded this year as we will try to visit some lesser known spots as well.

বোলপুর স্টেশন থেকে ১০ কিলোমিটার দূরত্বে অবস্থিত 'রক্তকরবী কারুগ্রাম।' এই রিসর্টে ঢুকেই মনে হয় যেন বহু যত্নে সাজানো একটি আদিবাসী গ্রাম। ইঁট-কংক্রিটের শহর ছেড়ে এখানে প্রবেশ করলেই আপনার মনে হবে হাঁফ ছেড়ে বাঁচলেন। ঘরের কাঠামো থেকে শুরু করে আসবাবপত্রে স্থানীয় চিত্রকলার নিদর্শন আপনার মন ভুলিয়ে দেবে।

তিন ধরনের ঘর রয়েছে এখানে। DUPLEX BUNGALOWS, ETHNIC COTTAGES এবং BALMIKI BATI। মূল শান্তিনিকেতন থেকে কিছুটা দূরে অবস্থিত হলেও শান্তিনিকেতনের স্বাদ চেটেপুটে উপভোগ করতে পারবেন আপনারা এখানে।

পুজোয় যাঁরা এখনও কোথায় যাবেন সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে পারেননি, তাঁরা 'রক্তকরবী কারুগ্রাম'-এর কথা ভাবতে পারেন। পুজোর দিনগুলো ঘর এখনও খালি রয়েছে এখানে।
