Youth Hostels Association of India, New Delhi a non-governmental voluntary organization being National Body is affiliated to International Youth Hostel, United Kingdom. The Chief Patron of the organization is the President of India. The organization is engaged in promoting friendship and social service throughout the country through different welfare activities. All programmes of YHAI are conducte
d through fund and service support of members who come mainly from middle class families. There are over 50 Youth Hostels in India and more than 6000 Hostels all over the world exclusively for the members. Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI), West Bengal State Branch has given permission to open a Unit under West Bengal State Branch in Dum Dum area for promoting Youth Hostel movement. Being a voluntary organization, day today activities of the Unit are met through sponsorship and donations.
