We wouldn't have made it to The New York Times' list of ‘52 places to go in 2023’ but for the farmers, the bell metal workers, the potters, the blacksmiths, the coir makers, the boatmen, the Theyyam artistes, the fisher folk, the coconut climbers, the handloom weavers… as well as thousands of others including travellers who have made Kerala the global destination it is today. TIME magazine has named Kerala among the 50 extraordinary destinations to explore in its list of the World’s Greatest Places of 2022.

Describing the southern state, the publication stated: "Kerala is one of India’s most beautiful states. With spectacular beaches and lush backwaters, temples, and palaces, it’s known as 'God’s own country' for good reason."
