भगवान बुद्ध की महापरिनिर्वाण स्थली कुशीनगर में 23 और 24 फरवरी को अंतरराष्ट्रीय थाई महोत्सव का आयोजन किया जायेगा। इस आयोजन में विशेष पूजा, भगवान बुद्ध की धातु शोभायात्रा व सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम आदि होंगे। यात्रा में सुशोभित रथ पर स्वर्ण कलश में रखा गौतम बुद्ध का अस्थि अवशेष विशेष आकर्षण का केन्द्र होगा।बौद्ध भिक्षु भारत और थाईलैंड की खुशहाली, विकास और विश्वशांति की प्रार्थना करेंगे। थाई बुद्ध मोनास्ट्री कुशीनगर के प्रभारी फ्रा सोमपांग ने बताया कि आयोजन में थाई कलाकारों और बौद्ध भिक्षुओं के अलावा श्रीलंका, म्यामांर, जापान,भूटान समेत कई देशों के बौद्ध भिक्षुओं और पर्यटकों के साथ स्थानीय 30 विद्यालयों के लगभग 900बच्चे भी शामिल होंगे।
