3 years ago when I moved to the hills, it was all about trying to bring peace to my unhealed soul. Throughout the lockdown I stayed by myself at our home in the hills Manasi Bungalow in Lonavala while the world went through an upheaval of traumatic emotions.

During my time in Lonavala I realised how the hill-station and it’s people on thrived ans sustained on the tourism it attracted; to be able to get the humansofthehills together under one roof, help them get a second source of revenue and for some a sort of recognition and appreciation for their work was born Lonavala Local with a born and brought up architect himself, Viraj Kapadia who made me explore and experience the hill-station through the lens of a local to know the place even more better than I always knew.

We are grateful for all the love and support that we have been showered with since day one. It’s not been easy but the unwavering faith in our humble effort towards getting the community of Lonavala together has brought a lot of limelight in the recent times. One of them being today, where we were featured by the most generous Gautam S. Mengle, senior editor at MiD DAY who was flabbergasted with the hidden gems to be found at a hillstation that is mostly known for chikki, fudge, sightseeing points and dhabba. 📍⛰️

It’s about the reuse of traditional furniture, a space for expression and essentially an oasis of calm if you’re looking to unwind and focus on yourself. All made better with vibrant bougainvillaeas, that are naturally…pink! 🌸🌷🌺
