Roopkund Part II - "I swear I won't come back again to the mountains. Why take all the pains toiling uphill or crossing rivers." This is the feeling that comes to me sometimes in challenging terrains. But, the moment the view opens up and you are gifted with the most beautiful 4D wallpaper you can imagine, you forget everything. All the pains disappear. And you start planning for the next one.
And of course, it's a great feeling to reach places where no roads can go.

Roopkund Trek is one of the most photogenic treks I have ever done. Its also known as the mystery lake because of the pile of bones in the lake which is still a mystery. This is a trek of moderate difficulty with a maximum height of 15,750 ft.
This trek has pretty much everything that any nature lover can ask for. From dense forests to expansive meadows of the Ali and Bedni Bugyal, every part of the trek has its own charm.
You also get a great opportunity to see the Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and Chowkhamba peaks.
I'm glad I did this trek early in 2009 when not many used to go. Now, it has become one of the most popular treks in India.
Toiling through the tough terrains, sometimes I swear, I will probably never come back, but suddenly when the view opens up to a magnificent landscape with snow-capped peaks all around, all our tiredness vanishes.

One of my most interesting bike trips. I went around Kutch on a friend's motorbike in 2013. Kutch was quite raw those days. Like Ladakh was at one time. No roads, just dirt tracks. I was the only traveler there. I had lovely Jalebi and Phaphra early morning and went around these places. I went to more villages on the way, will share more pictures. Thanks to Linesh for the bike.
