‘It is amazing how we came as simple first time trekkers and became one of the family members here at Lazymonk Adventures’.
So it was out first call to go with Lazymonks!
We did a lot of research before going for a trek – pre-preparations, backpack options, trekking equipment, we did it all. Since we were starting as beginners so we decided to go for Hampta pass top. Not to forget, LMA’s hospitality won our hearts.
On our first day, I was rather much active and ascended with the team with full competitive spirit, reaching Chikka base camp. However, it was my first time staying at such a high altitude, I started to feel dizzy and uncomfortable. Guess what, I had started experiencing ATS and this was not on my fun trekking list. During the entire trail of Chikka to Balu ka Ghera the next day, it was a nightmare. I couldn’t walk properly, breathe or do anything that I was supposed to do on this adventure trail. I am grateful for trek guide Mangal who not only helped with necessary medications but also motivated me to reach Balu ka Ghera.
We did not lose hope, that’s all I would say. Sanjana and I were not feeling well but were supported and encouraged by the amazing trek team of LMA. We finally trekked to Hampta pass top and then back to Balu ka ghera (we were already an hour late and were last to reach the campsite). At evening, I was called to have our yummy soup to the dining hall. And! It was a huge surprise for me. The entire team along with my friend Sanjana had gathered to celebrate my birthday, I felt like a kid who wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. We danced, had snacks, sang with all my sickness taking a back seat.
It was the best birthday trek I could have asked for. Still cherishing the experience. Thanks LMA!
