It has been 2 months since Caju Grove started and we are enjoying every bit of it. But other than the joy of hosting, discovering a never-before seen or a never-before imagined Goa has been a more than welcome revelation.
Be it experiences of unique but delicious Goan cuisine, or activities like cycling, kayaking on local islands around mangrove forests - we are discovering a new side of Goa every single day.
We would love to share these not so common Goan experiences with all our guests to make their stay with us even more memorable. And we are thrilled to announce a collaboration with Shreya (who we hosted at The Kokum Tree and clicked immediately!), a super-talented and popular experience designer, curator and traveller. There is still chill in the air!
Our evergreen orchard is still getting covered in a blanket of fog every morning! It's the best season to enjoy abundant vegetables, fresh from our farm. Experience nip in the air after sunset with a barbeque and warm yourself up at the bonfire before slipping under the blanket!

We are thrilled to announce the name of our new venture in Goa,
‘Caju Grove’.

Cashew and Goa have an undeniable connection that goes a long way. However, ‘Caju’ (as Portuguese call it) was brought to India by the colonizers all the way from Brazil a long time back. Today it stands tall among the native trees depicting the distinctive Goan way of life that’s a combination of its colonial heritage and native coastal Konkani culture.

At ‘Caju Grove’, we are restoring a 19th century Portuguese Villa to preserve its charm and merge it with contemporary amenities for a memorable stay in a quiet Goan village.

We are planning a pool area with adjoining bar-lounge space, an open-air wooden deck- ideal for small events along with a peaceful backyard with a day-bed perfect to grab a book and hygge for the day.

We also wish to take this opportunity and thank you all for the love and support you have shown to ‘The Kokum Tree’

We're pleased to announce a new addition to our team!
Meet Praveen, who has come to join us all the way from Vizag.
He brings his expertise in permaculture and his passion for minimising waste along with his love for meeting new people and plants!
It's difficult for us to keep a track of all that he has learnt and his various skills as he has done a lot of research in activity based learning, completed multiple courses in natural building and he is also a trained masseuse!
So we can offer an in-house massage therapy to all our guests 😊

Hello peeps! We have a big news to share! We have decided to start another homestay in Goa 😊

As we embarked on finding the quintessential Goan vibe, we started exploring the Goa that’s truly a village at its heart with its own quirks, the much adored ‘susegad’ attitude and the unique Portuguese influence that shines in its Architecture and food.

We are happy to announce that we have found an old Portuguese house that won our hearts the moment we set our eyes on it and we are in the process of restoring it.
We are excited to share our journey with all of you!

Nivagrya (निवगऱ्या)
Modaks are the highlight of Ganpati festival, but Nivagari is my favourite too!
It's a savoury preparation made using the same dough as modaks. We simply add green chilli paste and salt in the dough, roughly shape them into small discs and steam in the same vessel. It is a must to eat them piping hot and with a spoonful of ghee/ raw oil!!
