Chennai to Rameshwaram.
Head winds and how Luckily, not as strong as we experienced in 2022.
Amazing roads to lands end, beyond Dhanuskodi and known as Arichal Munai, a place from where the Ramsetu begins. This was the high point. The ruins of Dhanuskodi were visible and stark.
The temple dedicated to Vibhishan, that juts out into the sea was a special highlight, not to forget the 🥥 water and the fresh and juicy 🍍.

We culminated the ride back into Rameshwaram town.

Super riding by all riders. 630kms riding mixed with rain,
race,
wind,
bridges,
paddy,
gravel & grime,
2x punctures,
amazing places to stay
& eat,
Temples,
Traditional homes.

Advantages of riding Chennai to Rameshwaram via Thanjavur and Karaikudi

Some of the most amazing roads lead to the best places. Esp Karaikudi or the capital of Chettinad.

The Chettinad homes and the temples are unmatched. Their shrinking numbers tell a sad story of a culture that May intermix and disappear. The traders endured the ravages of wars over centuries and maintain a style and dignity till date and hope they continue to do so.
We stayed at a Chettinad home and it was an experience out of this world.
These are the owners homes.
Definitely worth and visit and propitiate such gems.

Rainy starts ends up being a blessing despite logistical hiccups, with the temps down and fresh greens by the road side. A pretty flat ride on the ECR from Taj Fisherman’s Cove to Villa Cavi, Pondicherry.

The main start ion was the beautifully maintained Chamba Statue at Apati above Kargil - only one the three Maitreya Chambas usually referred to as the Bamiyan Buddha’s of Ladakh.

Riding to the worlds highest motorable pass begins with an acclimatisation ride to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and back.
Everyone did well. Today is a day we fix the final niggles if any so that we head to the real deal morrow onwards. Slowly gaining altitude and edging our Acclimatisation profile and adjust our bodies to higher reaches.

Falling on your butt is a great icebreaker with your fellow trekkers.

Despite the icy terrain, the warmth of our laughter and camaraderie kept us going. The Chadar Trek may have been challenging, but the friendships we formed along the way made it all worth it. Can't wait to lace up our boots and hit the trail again with these amazing people!
