_Every year, in the quaint sea-side village of Velas, the beach is host to thousands of Olive Ridley turtles, who come here to lay their eggs. As the sun dips into the sea, setting alight the waters, and darkness descends, watching the turtles start their first journey towards the sea is a fascinating experience. The hatching season lasts from February to April. While large stretches of India's coastline are home to the turtle; Velas Beach is said to be the most popular nesting site on the Konkan coast._

Max Altitude: 3,100 ft. Approx
Base Village: Peth

🖋️ Info:
Kothaligad is more commonly known as the fort of Peth because the village of Peth is situated at its base. The pinnacle of the Peth can be seen from the village. On reaching the top of the fort, we see caves carved in huge rocks. Small water tanks and some cannon balls are scattered on the fort. The fort looks like an inverted funnel, it is also known as funnel hill.

Every year, in the quaint sea-side village of Velas, the beach is host to thousands of Olive Ridley turtles, who come here to lay their eggs. As the sun dips into the sea, setting alight the waters, and darkness descends, watching the turtles start their first journey towards the sea is a fascinating experience. The hatching season lasts from February to April. While large stretches of India's coastline are home to the turtle; Velas Beach is said to be the most popular nesting site on the Konkan coast.

Located at an elevation of 3,353mts above sea level in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, Pindari Glacier is the most accessible glacier in Kumaon Himalaya. Spread over an area of 3.2 km, Pindari Glacier is the lone source of Pindari River which meets the Alaknanda at Karnaprayag in the Garhwal district. The trail to reach Glacier astonishes people at every turn because of its spectacular beauty and tranquility.
