A proud moment for us, as the Mumbai Police played a crucial role in Organ (Heart) transfer from Mumbai to a needy patient in Chennai.
As medical flight operator, it is routine for us to fly organs. But in this mission we experienced how the ground logistics is managed. Within 45 minutes the Mumbai police in coordination with the Central Control Unit rolled into action and opened a ‘green-corridor’. Police officers visited the hospital, checked the condition of the Ambulance & fuel levels, instructed the driver and meticulously planned the road journey with 100+ police personnel deployed on the entire route covering all junctions. The Ambulance reached the Airport within dot 17 minutes. MAB’s Air Ambulance and crew were on standby and the medical flight with the organ onboard took-off at 8.28 PM to Chennai.
Cruising with the convoy through the green corridor was a trilling and mesmerizing experience! The entire road journey was managed by API - Jaywant Dambale, HC - Vihare and PN – Konde from ‘Bhoiwada Traffic Division.’
Kudos to #MumbaiPolice for making this great feat possible to save a life… Truly a thrilling experience at par to international standards, bravo!
