Southern Countryside - This road trips shall also take you through some of the wildest countryside of south India that have dense jungles and breathtaking natural vista. Some of the stretches are such that you have a high probability of witnessing wild animals in the surrounding foliage or even crossing the road right in front of you!

Discover the richness of this legacy at Badami and Pattadkal from where ruled the mighty Chalukyas and later at Hampi which is reminiscent of the great Vijayanagar Empire. You shall be in the company of an expert who shall take you back to the dreamy medieval times of India!

Sankar Gompa or Sankar Monastery is a beautiful Buddhist monastery located 6 km from Leh. Traditionally believed to be a subsidiary of Spituk Monastery, it serves as the residence of the Abbot of Spituk, the senior incarnate lama of Ladakh, making it an important religious site. The main attraction is the statue of Avalokitesvara with 1000 arms and heads.

Irshalgad - Irshal is not a fort but actually a pinnacle. This is the reason why it hardly figures anywhere in history. Shivaji Maharaj captured the complete region of Kalyan and Bhiwandi, up to Rairi in May 1666. This fort too, must have come under the Maratha rule at that time. Irshal is the next-door neighbour to Prabalgad.

About 165 kms from Mumbai high up in the Sahayadri Hills lies the spectacular pass of Naneghat which was once one of the most important trading passages of ancient India during the rule of the powerful Satvahanas. Literally, the name nane means “coin” and ghat means “pass”. It connected the Konkan coast communities with Deccan high plateau through Junnar. The name is given because this path was used as a tollbooth to collect toll from traders crossing the hills.

This exciting hike, in true sense, is a walk back in time!

About 165 kms from Mumbai high up in the Sahayadri Hills lies the spectacular pass of Naneghat which was once one of the most important trading passages of ancient India during the rule of the powerful Satvahanas.

Irshalgad :
Talking about history of Irshalgad is that this fort was under the Maratha rule when Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured the regions of Kalyan and Bhiwandi. Irshalgad can not be called as fort as there is no fortification available.
