ries, Indian villages have been self-sustaining units, conscious of their environment and rich in local heritage. We bring these traditional cultures to travelers whilst also generating vital livelihood opportunities for people who live in rural India. We give travelers the opportunity to stay with a local family in a homestay, experience local activities that involve the broader rural community and contribute to the sustainability of village life. This also enables us to offer a wide range of holiday options to our guests. If you are interested in getting off the beaten track, exploring the road less traveled in India and interacting with the local community, then Culture Aangan is for you. Sit with the local shepherds as they prepare to head out for the day, watch local crafts people at work, seek out dolphins as they play or dance with children around an open fire. These simple pleasures will rejuvenate your spirit and relax your mind, body and soul.

Early morning at the Gateway of India is a busy time. School children on a visit to the city; people hurrying to catch the ferry; a couple wants to click the best shots against the monument backdrop; the pigeons clacking merrily and the Mutt taking it all in! One of the best ways to enjoy a city is to watch. Sit in a quiet spot and just watch all that is happening around you. Watch the sounds and the smells. They tell a story! Come and join us on our story telling tours! ; ; ;

As children, highlight would be visiting grandparents home for holidays in Kumta, coastal town in Karnataka. Days would just be spent in gorging on the delicious meals my grandma would cook. There would be elaborate breakfast followed by mid morning small meal and then lunch. 4 pm would tea and snacks and then dinner. In between of these main meals would be endless supply of mangoes and jackfruits and berries. It was full on party time for 2 months. So, when i started Culture Aangan experiential tours, food had to be an integral part.😻 ; ;

July 26th 2005 when Mumbai was submerged in water, my colleagues , Yamini and George , stuck in Sindhdurgh chanced upon this puppeteer. Gangavane . It was the brilliancy of his art and passion that urged us , as a team Culture Aangan to conserve the dying art of Pinguli puppetry. And the journey began..

I am very very proud and happy that Mr. Gangavane has received the Padmashri this year. I salute his dedication and passion towards his art. I pray that he and his family reach many more heights in keeping this art alive and thriving.
