A picturesque hill station in the Western Ghats, Munnar is situated in the confluence of thr
ee rivers viz Muthirapuzha, Nullatanni and Kundala, deriving its name "Mo**ar" ( three rivers in Tamil). Munnar is plenty of Tea Plantations. Few lakes, picturesque landscapes, misty mountains, rare flora and fauna make munnar a special Hills station. Munnar hails to protect "Nilgiri Tahr" an endanged species of wild goat. Neela Kurinji which blooms every 12 years ( next due in 2018) is another speciality. The highest peak of south India " Anaimudi Peak" which is 2695 M above sea level is the crown of Munnar.
