As the flowering season recedes, pretty white and pink blossoms give way to bountiful bright red and yellow fruits that ripen with patience on the droopy branches. There are apple 🍎, peach 🍑, and plum trees in our backyard. The fruiting season in the Kumaon lasts from April to July. August is spent in harvest. This is the advent of marmalade, fruit preserves, jam and pickle making season for the hill folk, as they now brace for the colder days in winter ahead. P.S. As the jam making season begins, we too have a small announcement 📢 Our cozy Villa is now on AirBnB and we would love to host you over a spree of long weekends - we are taking bookings for September G-20 long weekend, later as Ganesh Chaturthi starts, and in October during Gandhi Jayanti. Plan your escape to the hills now! Airbnb Link in bio!
