About The Calm Cottage : The Calm Cottages are tucked away in a beautiful little village “ Nathuakhan”. Nathuakhan is a small village in the Ramgarh block of the Nainital District in the state of Uttarakhand. This place is rich in Orchards and also falls in the Fruit Bowl of Kumaon. . The Cottages are surrounded by lush green fields, plum and peach trees and a panoramic view of mountains. One can

go in for numerous adventure treks or just” do nothing”, relax and spend time with family and friends. Enjoy reading from a variety of available books, play board games or spend fun time together. How to Reach: A 7-hour non-stop drive from New Delhi by road. Dining : Enjoy simple home cooked meals prepared and served by our efficient staff from the local village. There is no a- la- carte menu and the meals are served as per fixed menu in our dining area. All care is taken to ensure local sourced vegetables/ vegetables from own kitchen garden. Tea/Coffee makers are provided in all the rooms. Our kitchen staff happily caters to all the needs of the guests from 7 Am to 9 Pm………..then they have a long walk back home, so that they are back refreshed and with welcoming smile, the next day. MEET THE STAFF

Dinesh and Harinder, both local men from the village. Both an attraction of the property! And of course Bruno too!

Dinesh, fondly called as Dinesh Bhaiya is our lovely caretaker and much more. He takes after our host Gunjan and goes above and beyond to make the place what it is, he is artistic, curious and extremely loving. You will always find a smile on his face, and never hear him say No. He believes in going the extra mile in everything he does, be it in his welcome flower bouquet or his ideas and decor all around the property. The best part about him is his sing song voice which will leave an impact on anyone who hears it! He is truly the soul of the place.

Harinder or Harinder Bhaiya as most people call him, is our very own masterchef. His cooking can put your nani ke ghar ka khaana to shame. His love flows through food, you name it and he will make it. He is very shy and you will usually find him in the kitchen, which is his safe spot. Harinder Bhaiya is the heart of the place and makes sure everyone leaves with a full stomach and a happy heart!

Bruno, our beloved pet is as calm as a dog can get. You will find him lazing around in our yard soaking in the sun. He thinks it’s his cottage and he is absolutely right. He is always up for cuddles and will come everyday to meet the guests and hopefully get some of their food, that is his only motive!

The staff is our highlight and we promise you’ll be loved and fed and maybe licked on your stay. If you have to remember just one thing about our place when you leave, our staff would be on top of that list!

MEET THE HOSTS

Sandeep and Gunjan, who have left the hustle bustle of city life to settle in this quaint little village Nathuakhan.

The Calm Cottages is a product of Sandeep’s dream of owning a house on the hills. Being a trainer by profession and a strong believer in the idea behind believe it to achieve it, he finally took a step in this direction over 10 years ago. Sandeep started his career in hotel management which made this venture the perfect fit for this couple.

Gunjan, a teacher by profession and an artist at heart has made The Calm Cottages what it is. She thinks about the small things and wants to do everything herself. Think handmade, think homemade, think Gunjan. Her creativity and love is visible all across the property.

The couple is a travel freak and you will find them in different places throughout the year. Both of them have now quit their jobs to welcome guests in their homestay at The Calm Cottages.
