Today, the Harishpur Communitea pays its respects to Harishpur's founder and guiding light, Late. Shyamal Ch. Bagchi; on his 88th Birth Anniversary.
In the challenging situation of today, where the tea industry is facing an uphill battle against climate change and adverse conditions, we draw strength from his indomitable pioneering spirit and endeavour.

We benefit and take inspiration from his far-sighted endeavours to establish man-made forest patches and water bodies in the plantation area as well as efforts towards crop diversification, well before climate change and adverse production conditions were part of the day to day considerations of tea growers. We are guided by his principles of attention to the highest standards of management and quality of product, and strive to uphold and carry forward his enduring legacy.

May his spirit continue to guide us on this journey.

This year's Environment Day theme is "solutions to plastic pollution", under the campaign:

To save our mother earth we have to be conscious in our daily life. The foremost duty of humanity is to protect the environment for our own sake.

The Harishpur Communitea advocates for avoidance and responsible use of plastic.

Few steps to reduce domestic plastic use:

1. The 5 R's : Refuse-Reduce-Reuse-Recycle-Repurpose
2. Eco- friendly storage.
3. Avoid plastic as much as possible: stop accepting, stop disposing. Use at your own responsibility
4. Make eco-brick, doormats from single use plastic, flower pot or decorative products from different types of bottles and containers.
5. Always carry a shopping bag with you to reduce plastic pollution.
6. Minimise use of soap, Scheduled washing program.
7. Try to reduce use of fossil fuel. Save electricity.

Remembering my heavenly father Lt. SHYAMAL CHANDA BAGCHI on his birth anniversary, 4th April 🙏

After 30 year of his untimely, unwanted, and painful demise; I still feel his presence and till date his Departed soul is always with me to guide me through my intuition; and gives me strength to face the challenges of life.

He is not only my creator, he is my inspiration and mentor too.

No child exists without the blessing of their parents but our father is a little more important, he is not only father of two of us, people are still remembering and missing him.

I'm a proud daughter of a great man.

Baba, I never miss you, you are here in the heart of your Harishpur.🙏

Garu Bihu( গৰু বিহু) this phase is related to the agricultural roots of Assam and the reverence of livestock
The first day of the Bihu is called 'Garu Bihu'. On this day the household cattle are taken to the river/pond and bathed, massage them with a combination of oil, paste of pulses and turmeric. The cattle are also whipped lightly with two shrubs locally called dighloti and makhioti, and fed specific vegetables. People pray for the wellbeing and safety of their livestock.

Farewell of Mr. Jatin Ch. Barua, associated with Harishpur for the last 12 years as Manager; Mr. K. Phukan, associated with Harishpur over four decades, lastly as the Sureshnagar division Sr. Field Supervisor; and Mrs. Baruah, key contributor towards the Keya Bagchi Foundation's training and production unit, "Seuji Shyamal Hastashilpa Goshti".

A very emotional and poignant moment for the Harishpur Communitea, marked by a farewell picnic organised by the Harishpur Communitea members, followed by traditional Jhumur dance performances.

Today 2nd October 2021,
At Ghinai, Samuguri Panchayat area of Naharkatia Revenue Circle , DibrugarhDistrict -
a Mass Cleaning, Disinfectant Spraying and Awareness Campaign was done by the volunteers of Harishpur CommuniTea and Sr. Students and Teachers of Rajgarh Rangali School.
This Swatch Bharat Avijan was organised by Jagrata Gramin Samity of All India Service organisation Bharat Vikas Parishad, Dibrugarh Branch to commemorate 152 Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhijee and 117th Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister LalBahadur Sastrijee.

A week long programme (16th-22nd January, 2021) was held to commemorate National Girl Child Week, organised at Harishpur Tea Estate, under the aegis of Jagrata Gramin Samity of Bharat Vikas Parishad Dibrugarh.

The activities consisted of: elocution, drawing and sports competitions; jhumoor and group song exhibition; anaemia-free bharat camp; and distribution of cast iron utensils, woollen garments and nutritious food items.

The closing ceremony was held on National Girl Child Day (24th January) at Keya Bagchi Memorial Activity Hall, and was graced by UNICEF Office Bearers of Dibrugarh District, followed by a community lunch.
