So we have been seeing happy pictures of travellers on this page. Though as a responsible travel organisation it is important for us to ponder on important points which are related to the travel industry and impact all of us; whether as travellers or as being part of the industry.

A travel to Uttrakhand last week brought forth one of the grave situations the jungles are facing and which in turn will impact the overall environment, ecology, economy of the state. The jungle fires raging all across Uttrakhand are a serious threat not only for the environment but for the people and economy in general. An AQI of 270 at is worse than Delhi during these days. So why will someone travel to Uttrakhand during summers when you see & inhale smoke all around ?

Time for all of us to think and take some real action:

1) Reduce usage of polythene when we travel to mountains and otherwise also.

2) Plant some trees or try to save as many as we can

3) Do not litter in mountains and keep the places clean

4) Use water judiciously

Palampur in Kangra Valley is a worth visiting place for a short trip. It has beautiful landscapes & view of Himalaya mountains, Tea gardens, famous temples, picnic, trekking spots. & Museums. Though it’s near to Dharamshala but is not as popular as Dharamshala. If you want to stay at a relatively secluded place and away from the tourist crowd at Dharmshala, you can stay at Palampur and plan to travel to nearest tourist attraction i.e Dharamshala & Mcleodganj. Jaipur or the Pink City is not only pink but also the one of the most colorful city of India. The city gives you experience of both, rich cultural heritage as well as contemporary life-style. We arrived at hotel “Lemon Tree Premier” booked through Wizard Holidays. There were Covid protocols to be followed at the time of check in but that was ok as it was for our better safety and hygiene. Room was clean and spacious for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids.

Weather was perfect to walk around the heart of pink city. Iconic Hawa Mahal, City Palace & Jantar Mantar are part of it. As a science student, I was amazed to see astronomical instruments built by our ancestors.

Jaipur is also the city of many forts. Every fort has its own beauty and story. You are bound to like them. Reason could be any, be it Architecture, Painting or simply its location.

If you want to see the beauty of Jaipur, visit Nahargarh Fort after sunset. Golden and silver light view of Jaipur from the top of Nahargarh Fort is one of the most memorable part of our trip.

Central India holds so much information about our history and heritage. Morena, which is situated between Gwalior & Agra is one such district with historical sites at Temple Complex and Mahadev spanning a period from 6th century to 13th century. Bateshwar is especially noticeable since a large portion of the complex was in ruins and is now being restored.

The rich & intricate detailing plus the detailed layout plan shows how well evolved the architecture of the time was and as always it amazes how such mammoth complexes were constructed during those days without any heavy machinery.

Winters also offered some nice view along the way with mustard flowers creating a yellow hue along the road side.

The approach road is fairly ok with some under construction patches where work is going on.

Not a hill station, nor a beach destination. This time it was in search of solitude and the place was Kushinagar.

Kushinagar holds a lot of importance in Buddhist pilgrimage. It is famous for numerous monasteries and stupas dating back years ago are almost in relics now.

The much explored site of this beautiful town is Mahaparinirvana Stupa which is positioned above the location where Gautam Buddha is finally resting.

Our visit was a short one but gave a lot of insight into the Buddhist way of life and learning. The place offers a lot of peace & tranquility and one can spend hours sitting and meditating.

We visited Agra for the first time but the experience was truly amazing.

Thanks to . Our stay was awesome. The property suggested by them was Courtyard by Marriott & it has all the amenities. Breakfast was full of variety and was scrumptious. Dinner was equally good. Overall a luxurious staycation we had.

Great start to 2021 with some memorable travel.
