Isn't Fatehpur Sikri stunning?

Built in the 16th century at the behest of Emperor Akbar, this majestic red sandstone complex was his capital for only 14 years. What remains today is a cluster of empty royal dwellings; an intriguing ghost town, reflecting a high point in India’s cultural history.

Located on the outskirts of Agra en-route to Jaipur, it's a fascinating place to stretch your legs along the way.

Well, it was built in the 9th century to store water and keep it cool. 13 floors containing 3,500 narrow steps perfectly zig-zag their way down to the bottom.
