The Travelers Society established in 2008 is probably the only society of its kind in Delhi University. Started by a group of 6 motivated individuals, the society now has over 30 members. The Travelers are the picture of organization and fun teamwork. Previous years have seen The Travelers conduct treks to Dodi Tal, Rajgarh-Churdhar, Mahendrapur, Mashobra along with Rafting Trips and Adventure Cam
ps for the students of SRCC. We’ve organized a number of trips in this academic year (2013-14). The first was the members’-only Excursion to Dumduma Lake. Following that was the super-successful and wildly-popular (yes, we’re very modest) Rafting Trip to Rishikesh, which saw 52 students from our college camping out in the wilderness together after the end-semester exams in December. We plan to head up north in March and far north east, this summer. A group of 20 students went for a trip to The Jim Corbett National Park recently organized from the 5th to the 7th of March, 2013.The Andaman scuba diving adventure trip stands out when we look back and reminisce those glorious days. ESCAPADES - Epitomizes the true spirit of The Travelers
Every year, The Travelers organize Escapades, an adventure activities event at Crossroads. Escapades ’13 was a huge success, and it saw the maximum footfall of any informal at Crossroads 2013 - SRCC's cultural fest from 27th February to 2nd March 2013. ( Over 20,000 people over a course of 4 days!!)
Various adventure activities were on offer for the duration of the four days of the fest, many of them organized for the first time ever in a college:
ATVs, Zorbing, Body Zorb, Archery, Rock Climbing, Trampoline Volleyball, Dodge Ball, Street Soccer, Paint Ball, Flying Fox
Escapades was able to attract credible sponsors like Nescafe and Holiday Moods Adventure
WE PLAN TO MAKE IT INSANE THIS YEAR. GO FAR BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY OR ANYTHING YOU HAVE EVER IMAGINED
