On 16 December 2024, Development Alternatives' CEO, Shrashtant Patara, and Associate Vice President, Kanika Verma, led a session on "Design Thinking: Creating the Future of Innovation" at the Konvensyen Inovasi Sosial (KIS) 2024 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The session aimed to explore the potential of Design Thinking and Systems Thinking in facilitating inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship.

By integrating empathy-driven innovation with systemic approaches, the session highlighted the importance of collaboration and co-creation in enabling a resilient future of work. It emphasised how empowering individuals and communities to transition from job seekers to job creators could enable sustainable change.

As Malaysia strengthens its social innovation ecosystem, the insights shared during this session offered a roadmap to adopt some of the tools to further equitable opportunities in the country.

The session attracted a diverse audience, including students and innovators, facilitating a vibrant atmosphere of engagement and knowledge exchange.

These engaging street plays aim to reignite the community's connection with local water bodies, raise awareness about pond rejuvenation and empower communities to maintain their rejuvenated ponds. Through this initiative, DA strives to ignite a sense of responsibility, inspire collective efforts in preserving natural resources and bring communities forward together for a water-positive future.

Thrilled to share that Development Alternatives has been honored with the Special Recognition Award by HUL Prabhat for its initiative in transforming drinking water in Nalagarh on 18th December, 2024!

Through the Prakriti Project, DA addressed and tackled water contamination in Nikoowal and Rakhram Singh villages, where high TDS, chloride, and nitrate levels caused severe health issues. Using Nano-filtration technology, DA established a customized water filter plant, now providing clean and safe drinking water to both villages.
