They said Jodhpur is a city which will colour you blue. We kept wandering in the small alleyways of the Old City and got lost in the jumble of blue cubes. At some places, we smelled the fresh paint of blue, maybe a call to tourists to earn a livelihood. But what seemed most appealing to us was the rustic blue which had a smell of Old Jodhpur.
Though I love the blissful nature Southern India is known for, but my roots are from colourful Rajasthan. Have you been to Rajasthan and if yes, which part of Rajasthan you loved the most and why?

Situated at the height of 2200m, Shimla is the capital and the largest city of Himachal Pradesh in India. Set amidst beautiful hills and mystical woods, Shimla has been a very popular hill-station among Indian families and honeymooners.

British loved this city so much that they made Shimla their summer capital in 1864 and used to rule the sub-continent from here whenever the temperature rose in the nearby plains. Shimla still retains its old-world charm with beautiful colonial architecture, pedestrian-friendly Mall Road and the ridge.

Dodra & Kwar villages

Not a moment of life is wasted in village. Others may have been more places but haven't outlived me ✨
Dodra and Kwar – (डोड्रा और क्वार) are two beautiful villages nestled in remote part of Himalayas in state of Himachal Pradesh (India). Situated at a height of 2500 mts above sea level, both the villages of Dodra and Kwar are separated by River Rupin which is a tributary of River Yamuna. Recently (Year 2009) connected through a motorable road, though seasonal, this pocket retains a pristine beauty.

There are countless wild flowers and medicinal herbs, thick woods of flowering rhododendron, cedar and birch, waterfalls and fast-flowing streams. All this is set against a majestic backdrop of high peaks like the Sharangcha. The villages and their temples, are remarkable examples of local wood work skill and come packed with fascinating legends.

Dodra and Kwar are two villages on the opposite sides of the valley separated by Rupin river that merges into Tons river. It borders with Uttarakhand and is a famous trek from Naitwar as well. You can even cross Rupin pass from Sangla in Kinnaur to reach this region.

Safety isn’t expensive, its priceless

Mountains will teach you about change and being prepared for change.

If you have ever spent time in the mountains you should know that the weather changes in a heartbeat so being prepared is key. Every mountain is different so much of the time you also have to change your route. There is never just one way up a mountain, sometimes the route is many other ways or something is blocking your way. Mountains will teach you that things are always changing and you just need to find another tactic to over come the change.

This was my first visit to this village, plan was flexible and my driver asked to skip it and almost convinced me. But my inner voice was not ready to skip it. I’m glad that I visited this village. Not all who visit Nubra, explore this village because it takes a complete day. .

Yes this is my favourite village in India where I would love to visit again and again 💙
