Bir is a small village located in the Kangra district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is known for its beautiful landscapes, Tibetan monasteries, and as a destination for paragliding.
It is one of the most famous paragliding destinations in the world. The site hosted the Paragliding World Cup in 2015 and attracts adventure enthusiasts from around the globe. The scenic beauty of the region, combined with the thrill of paragliding, makes it a popular destination for both adventure seekers and nature lovers.

Explore the Dhauladhar Himalayan Trail extensively with Soulsafar Holidays in an 11 nights/12 days immersive, comfortable and escorted journey with a small group of like minded travel mates.
Enroute to Palampur from Chandigarh on day 2, we will visit the Jwalamukhi Temple, also known as Jwalaji Temple, which is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Jwalamukhi, located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Jwalamukhi Temple is considered one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, which are sacred shrines dedicated to the goddess Shakti. It is believed that the tongue of Sati, the consort of Lord Shiva, fell at this spot. The most distinctive feature of the temple is the continuously burning natural gas flames that emanate from the rock in different parts of the temple. These flames are considered to be the manifestation of the goddess.
After reaching Palampur we will have our night stay at Palampur.
Palampur, with its natural beauty and cultural charm, offers several interesting sightseeing spots. It is renowned for its lush tea gardens. Take a stroll through the tea plantations, and enjoy the serene atmosphere.
On the 3rd day we will visit the famous Baijnath temple in Kangra district, built in 1204 A.D, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It features intricate stone carvings and is surrounded by a serene ambiance. Then we will head towards Bir. The brave-hearts can do paragliding (cost on your own). The area offers stunning views of the Kangra Valley.
We will then visit Neugal Khad, which is a wide stream of water popular among tourists for family picnics and day outings.
The site also features a beautiful black iron bridge. Set against the high mountains of Dhauladhar, the Neugal Khad along with the bridge is ideal for photography enthusiasts to click Instagram worthy pictures.
Close to the stream is the Neugal Park featuring little eateries and quaint cafes where you
can sit outside and enjoy snacks while taking in the majestic views around you. Experiencing the majestic beauty of Himalayas we will return back
to the hotel and have our overnight stay in Palampur.

In 2012 the idea of Soul Safar took birth in the shape of blogs and FB pages written by Indira, sharing stories about her personal journeys on the less traveled routes. Her interesting tales about the magical offbeat destinations were liked by many travel lovers. Gradually with popular demand Soul Safar became a sought-after destination for info and stories of lesser known places and it’s people.

In 2019 Soul Safar successfully ventured into International guided tours with Russia being the first destination. Our future endeavor is to organize many guided story travels to select destinations rich in culture, heritage, history and tradition.

Indira, the soul of Soul Safar is a passionate travel enthusiast who loves to share her fascinating travel tales with the world through her blog. Bitten by the travel bug she has extensive experience of traveling especially to the Himalayas from her childhood. After a successful career in Public Relations she left her career to follow her passion.

To take this passion to the next level she has ventured into organizing small group guided story travel with compatible companions, revisiting and creating soul enriching stories.

Subhransu, an marketing and advertising professional is also an avid traveler. He is the co-founder of the startup and supports the organisation in spreading joy in the lives of the senior travelers.
