Indonesia is planning to introduce a visa that will allow remote workers to live there tax-free. Indonesia’s tourism minister Sandiaga Uno announced the proposed five-year ‘digital nomad visa’ earlier this month.
According to Bloomberg, the minister told reporters that he hopes to bring up to 3.6 million overseas travellers with this move. He added that the proposed visa will allow freelancers across the world or those working remotely to live on islands like Bali, provided their earnings are from companies outside of Indonesia.
