Fontainhas or Bairo Das Fontainhas is known as the oldest part of the capital city Panjim. This Latin quarter, is known for it’s quaint narrow lanes , colorful Indo Portuguese Houses with balconies and red-tiled roofs.

This part of Panjim was developed after the inhabitants from the former capital Velha Goa (Old Goa) were evacuated due the breakout of the disease’s and epidemics.

This Quarter was built in a very hurried fashion from the water drawn out of the natural spring fountain known as Fonte De Phoenix.

Be mesmerised by this colourful part of Panjim .
