Monsoon Trekking Expedition by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) & Forest Dept. will be conducted at Virdi Waterfall, on September 11, 2022
Trek to the Virdi falls, near Virdi village, a drive of about an hour and a half from Panaji, From the village the falls is anywhere between one and a half to two and a half hours by walk, depending up on how many times you lose your way.
Virdi waterfalls is nestled deep in Tilari forest range, on borders of Goa, Maharashtra, karnataka
Get to know this 7.5-km out-and-back trail near Goa Borders. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 22 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.
This is one of the hidden falls of the region. Although the initial stretch of the trek might not seem that tough but with time and towards the later stages this trail becomes tricky with very narrow pathways. It might seem an arduous effort to complete this trail but the end product that is the waterfall is just magical and worth all the efforts. This trail has stupendous lush green forest areas that have a highly diverse ecosystem. Some of the noteworthy species that can be spotted over here are the Barking deer, Sambar deer, Asian palm civet, small Indian civet, Black Panther, Sloth bear, Leopard, Tiger, etc. These waterfalls are one of the hidden gems of the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary.

The trekking expedition is open to all especially those with a spirit for adventure and nature lovers.
Transport arrangements have been made from Mapusa at 7.00 am and from Paryatan Bhavan, Panaji at 7.30 am, followed by a pick-up at Old Goa/Bhanstari/ Sankhali 7.45 and Margao at 6.45 am.
Registration fee is Rs 1200/ (food inclusive)
Yummy scrumptious lunch will be provided.
Interested trekkers are requested to carry along an extra pair of clothes, rainwear, trekking shoes, snacks and binoculars. No smoking and consumption of alcohol will be permitted.
