About the place -
The history of Bondla and its surroundings can be traced back to theSixth Century AD. based on several idols of archaeological significance excavated from this region. Bondla Zoo is located at the tri-junction of Dharbandora-Sattari-Ponda taluka and is surrounded by six villages . The Bondla zoo is located at an elevation of 170m above sea level within the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. The terrain is mostly hilly and undulating with elevation ranging from 150m to 242m above sea level. several perennial and seasonal streams thatdraininto the Ragada river and the area within Bondla WLS and Zoo forms a very important water catchment region for the Ragda river in the east and Mhadei river in the north.

The main focus of our trip would be watching herpatofauna. The walk offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the forest which is extremely rich in herpetofauna, wildflowers and birds. Majorly snakes, frogs and geckos.
Itinerary -

Saturday,
Reach Bondla by 5:00 pm Check in at the dormitories( sharing basis) Freshen up and Rest.
6.00 pm to Ice Breaking session
6.30 pm to 7.30 pm Orientation to forest and wildlife of Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary.
7.30 pm Jungle Trail with forest officials.
8.30 pm Dinner (Veg - Non Veg Food) at discussions about nature and conservation, snakes n frogs with experts

GTDC’s trekking expedition to Mann falls this Sunday, 9nd July 2023
The second edition of Monsoon Trekking Expedition by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) will be conducted at Man falls. on Sunday July 9, 2023
Mann falls is a hidden waterfall, tucked away in dense forests.
The trail from the Village to the waterfalls is a different experience all together, with small streams to cross, walk through the paddy fields and under the canopy.
At end enjoy the natural whirlpool bath on back, neck which gushes from a height of approx. 40 meters and looks really beautiful. There is a little pool created by the falls, down side. If you want, you can take a dip in the chilly cold clear water, or enroute small ponds to fulfil the desire of all.
The fall is located amidst thick forest. The trek might take little more than 45 minutes depending on trekkers movement, and is a moderate one. Delicious veg and non-veg lunch will be provided.
The charge per head is Rs. 1200/- per head which is inclusive of lunch, transport and guiding.
Transport will leave from Mapusa Residency 6.45 a. m and from Margao Residency at 6.30 a.m. Reporting at Paryatan Bhavan, Panjim is at sharp 7.15 a.m. Those travelling from Ponda areas should catch bus at Banastari, other routes pick-ups at Verna, Cortalim , Old Goa & Sanquelim PHC,

GTDC’s trekking expedition to Tambdi Surla Waterfalls this Sunday, 2nd July 2023.

Monsoon Trekking Expedition by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) will be conducted at Tambdi Surla on Sunday July 2, 2023.

Tambdi Surla waterfalls is amongst the most famous waterfalls in the state located in the dense forest of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary.

The expedition will also include a visit to the famous Shiva temple at Tamdi Surla which is carved out of a single rock.

The trail from the temple to the Tambdi Surla waterfalls is enriching and rejuvenating. At the waterfalls, enjoy the cascade which gushes from a height of 50 meters in a zigzag way and looks really beautiful. There is a little pool created by the falls. If you want, you can take a dip in the chilly cold clear water.

If you are seeking peace and solace from the busy city life, then you need to pay this place a visit and connect with nature. While on your route, you will find a few streams flowing down the hills. The fresh air, pristine water, colourful birds and butterflies will definitely make you fall in love with the place. Initially, the path of trekking is quite wide but gradually narrows. The breathtaking view and cascading falls will make your adventurous and tiresome trek a worthy and fruitful one.

Tambdi Surla waterfalls is 90 minutes away from the temple. The fall is located amidst thick forest. The trek might take little more than 90 minutes depending on steep ascent. One needs to be physically fit to undertake this trek. Delicious veg and non-veg lunch will be provided.

The charge per head is Rs. 1200/- per head which is inclusive of lunch, transport and guiding.

Transport will leave from Mapusa Residency 7.15 a. m and from Margao Residency at 7.00 a.m. Reporting at Paryatan Bhavan,Panjim is at sharp 7.45 a.m. Pick up facility also available from Old Goa, Banasthari, Farmagudi and Ponda.

Monsoon Trekking Expedition by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) & Forest Dept. will be conducted at Virdi Waterfall, on September 11, 2022
Trek to the Virdi falls, near Virdi village, a drive of about an hour and a half from Panaji, From the village the falls is anywhere between one and a half to two and a half hours by walk, depending up on how many times you lose your way.
Virdi waterfalls is nestled deep in Tilari forest range, on borders of Goa, Maharashtra, karnataka
Get to know this 7.5-km out-and-back trail near Goa Borders. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 22 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.
This is one of the hidden falls of the region. Although the initial stretch of the trek might not seem that tough but with time and towards the later stages this trail becomes tricky with very narrow pathways. It might seem an arduous effort to complete this trail but the end product that is the waterfall is just magical and worth all the efforts. This trail has stupendous lush green forest areas that have a highly diverse ecosystem. Some of the noteworthy species that can be spotted over here are the Barking deer, Sambar deer, Asian palm civet, small Indian civet, Black Panther, Sloth bear, Leopard, Tiger, etc. These waterfalls are one of the hidden gems of the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary.
Pack your trekking bag and experience the Virdi falls at Virdi Village this Sunday.
The trekking expedition is open to all especially those with a spirit for adventure and nature lovers.
Transport arrangements have been made from Mapusa at 7.00 am and from Paryatan Bhavan, Panaji at 7.30 am, followed by a pick-up at Old Goa/Bhanstari/ Sankhali 7.45 and Margao at 6.45 am.
Registration fee is Rs 1200/ (food inclusive)

The DABEM waterfalls in Dabem, village is one piece of untouched mother nature. This quite little Dabem village with filled with lush green beauty. Its a beautiful site to see many small and big waterfalls in the hills behind , all packed in tight, into a small viewing area that could be seen from the foot of the hill. Its an ideal place for the people who love to go trecking. Its a not very long trail up, through the fields, slippery rocks, small streams, through shrubs, veils, along a distance of almost 1.5 to 2 km walk.
Dabem village is situated at a distance of 12 km from the Valpoi city. The Village people here are very kind and friendly The waterfalls here are very beautiful. Dabem waterfalls provides breathtaking view of the lush green forest along with the gushing flow of the river. Its in region of Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary.
To reach the falls, you need to walk a good 40 min one-way through shrubs and bushes and dense vegetation,The last stretch of 50 meters or so, is by walking over rocks adjacent / through the stream is breathtaking and challenging too.

Nestled in the Mhadei waterfalls, Naneli is another unexplored forest, and it's the home of Naneli waterfalls too. A seasonal waterfall, not very tough to access and the view from the top is spectacular.

Pack your trekking bags and head towards an easy and adventurous trek amidst nature and picturesque landscapes.

One has to trek 3 kilometers to reach Naneli village that leads to the majestic waterfall. The trek is easy with a total of 6 kms of walking both ways. The bus journey one way from Panjim to Valpoi is 52 kms

The trekking expedition is open to all especially those with a spirit for adventure and nature lovers.

Transport arrangements have been made from Margao and Mapusa Residency at 7.00 a.m. and from Paryatan Bhavan, Patto, Panjim at 8.00a.m. On the way pick up arrangements are available at Old Goa, Banasthari and Sankhali healthcentre.

Registration fee is Rs 1000/ inclusive of food.

Interested trekkers are requested to carry along an extra pair of clothes, rainwear, trekking shoes, water bottle ( please don’t carry packaged water) snacks and binoculars. No smoking and consumption of alcohol will be permitted
