You'll see four kinds of turtles nesting in Andaman - Leatherback (Dermochelys Coriacea), Hawksbill (Eretmochelys Imbricata), Green Turtle and Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys Olivacea). Of these, the leatherback turtle was in news last year (2018) as their settling practically multiplied. The turtle settling movement is moving to get back in the saddle after the misfortune of the 2004 Tsunami.

During the nesting season, you'll see female turtles advance toward the sandy sea shores and digging an opening. It is in here that they lay their eggs. Ocean turtles will quite often store around 100 eggs in each home and make 3 - 7 homes during the settling season.
