ut 17 km east of District headquaters on Jammu-Poonch state highway. Though having a mountainous topography Seri Khawaja provides a complete livelihood to its inhabitants. Climate is moderate with a light snowfall in winter but summers are quite cool as as a small river stream (Suran)
flows through the midst of the village . Society here is utterly agrarian having small land for cultivation merely good for two to three crops per year. Rural to Urban migration has left a core affect on Seri Khawaja. Its population declined considerably as many people emigrated to near lying towns of Surankote and Poonch. A single lane road had been carved out throughout the village some year back and is still under construction. Literacy of the village was quite low in preceding years but now has gained a boom in this field. Educational infrastructure include a higher secondary school, 5 middle schools 4 primary schools and 5 AWCs. Other helping hand structures are health centers, animal husbandry etc. Seri Khawaja has got more importance as a new link of prestigious Mughal road between Mandi and Bufliaz is being constructed through this village.
