Mumbai Celebrates Janmashtami like a boss. Janmashtami is celebrated in the form of Dahi handi where a pitcher of curd is hung at a great height from ground level. Young boys, symbolizing Lord Krishna, form a pyramid, and one particular person climbs up the pyramid to crack the pitcher. They chant "Govinda" while doing so.

Every aspect of Jew town tells you a story!

Jew Town is also called the ‘last Jew Town’ for the last remaining Jews of Cochin. It's famous for shopping, especially for antiques. It’s believed that the first of the Jews who settled near Cochin can trace their lineage back to King Solomon. If you are someone who loves stories about kings and queens, then Hill Palace will be a treat for you.
Hill Palace is also known as Thripunithara Palace. Palace turned museum was the residence of the Maharaja of Kochi, it is spread across an area of 54 acres and flaunts 49 lavish buildings. There are various paintings, swords, manuscripts, murals, and other items used by the royal families on display inside this palace, and footwear is not allowed inside the main building of the palace. One of the biggest attractions of this palace is the Crown made up of gold.

When you go there, do try boat riding which will take you to various other tourist destinations, such as Mattancherry Jewish Synagogue, etc. There are three bridges located in this promenade, namely The Houseboat Bridge, the Rainbow Bridge (near GCDA shopping complex, which is a must-visit place for shopping in Kochi), and the Chinese Fishing Net Bridge, exhibiting exceptional architecture.

A palace, full of stories of different generations and architecture!

Mattancherry Palace, Kochi is also known as the Dutch Palace. It was constructed in 1545 by the Portuguese as a present to King Veera Kerala Verma of the Kochi dynasty. It is the finest example of the confluence of colonial and Kerala style of architecture, with 4 individual wings and 1 patio in between. There is also a temple dedicated to Pazhayannur Bhagavathy, the deity of the royal family.

So, who is up for exploring the Mattancherry Palace?
