In the light of climate change, new rules have been announced by the Power Ministry to sustain economic viability of the sector, ease financial stress of various stakeholders and ensure timely recovery of costs involved in electricity generation.

The ministry said – ‘Energy transition is happening across the globe. India has also made commitments to bring energy transition. India has also announced International commitment to set-up 175 GW of RE capacity by 2022 and 450 GW by 2030.’

According to ministry, Rules are likely to help in achieve the targets of Renewable Energy generation while ensuring that consumers get green and clean power. Further, securing a healthy environment for the future generation.

Ever wondered how does electricity reach your homes? You must have noticed these big towers and wires, along the way. But what does these towers exactly do?
Large scale movement of electricity of high voltage from a generating site i.e., power plant to a substation. This movement is facilitated with a Transmission Network. The high Voltage electricity is converted to lower voltage at a substation, so that it can be distributed and used by private, public and industrial customers. This combined transmission and distribution network is known as the Electric Grid.

We , at VTPL , are pledging to be an integral part in energizing our country by manufacturing transmission towers to substation structures.

The coal situation is likely to be reviewed in the meeting by PMO today. The center is said to be gearing up for action after getting SOS from multiple states over coal shortage and looming power crisis. Even though coal and power minister earlier said that unnecessary panic was created and the coal stock is being built up and the situation is monitored on a continuous basis.
On one hand Centre has claimed there is ample coal for power sector and there is no need to panic, where as many plants across India do not have enough supply of coal and are reportedly shutting down. States are also warning of power black out as the stock of coal is very low. Delhi, Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Tamil Nadu have raised concerns over power cuts. 13 thermal power plants are shutdown in Maharashtra,3 power plants halted production in Punjab.
