This Page is about The LITTLE HOLIDAYS - a Home Stay at Panijhora Village under Rajabhatkhawa G.P., Alipurduar, West Bengal, India. The Home stay is run by a Munda Family and his friend from the community of Garo, supported by Us. The Stay is not in the Reserve Forest but in a Forest Village of the Buxa Tiger reserve. The Home stay is 8 kms from Alipurduar Junction Station and 3 Kms. from Rajabhatkhawa Forest Check Post (towards the Alipurduar).
Panijhora is an unique Village drained by three different Jhoras (streams), which come out from the north west of the Reserve and feed the main River Panijhora on the south east. The River Panijhora finally meet River Rajabhatkhawa on extreem South east, bordering core area of the Reserve. Naturally different Birds including Lapwing, Open bill Stork, Catlle Egrets, Indian Roller (Blue Jay), Scerpent Eagle, Honey Buzzard, Bee Eater, are very common to seen here. the place is cool and Calm, only silence breaks through by a crows of Red Jungle fowl or Bark of Barking Deer (Muntiacus muntjak) or somtimes by trumpet of an Elephant (Elephas maximus). Different ethnic groups like Adibasi, Rabha, Garo and Mechh resides here with the Bengalees All these forest dwellers cultivate Rice, Makai, Marua and other crops along with different vegetables, following green agricultural methods for their livelihood. But most of these crops feeds the Wilds. A Church is located in the centre of the Village, though most of them are Nature Worshippers and Hindus. A football ground is here for the youngstars. Little Holidays –introducing as an unusual Home stay in Dooars with a combination of Nature and comfort. There are total five number of specious Rooms, among which 2 numbers are twin bedded can share 6 number of Guest/Room. The large Rooms with minimum two number of huge windows gives you better view of Forest and the Village. The long elevated Lobby and a Veranda will helps you to feel the flavour nature at night. Wooden benches encircled the Camp Fire area. Very soon Bird’s Blind will be introduced for the Bird Watchers. Nearby Destinations: One can easily spend the Weekend by visiting each and every corner of Duars from here as the Buxa Fort (18 Km), Jainti (15 Km), Rajabhatkhawa (3 Km), Sikiyajhora (8 Km), Mendabari(18 Km), Chilapota (30 Km), Raimyatung (32 Km), Jaldapara (55 Km), Totopara (68 Km) and Phuentsholing (61 Km), is not far from here. This is your base camp for the Circular Trekking in Buxa Hills (Sinchula Hill Range). Tourists usually stay here for a night before visiting Bhutan for acclimatizing them with nature. How to Reach: Little Holidays- the Home Stay at Panijhora Forest Village is only 10 Km far from Alipurduar district Town, West Bengal.
