Dhari Devi Temple
Location = Dhari Devi a temple located on the banks of the Alaknanda River between Srinagar and Rudraprayag in the Garhwal Region of Uttarakhand, India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

Dhari Devi Temple - Legend & History

"Devprayag" means "Godly Confluence" in Sanskrit. As per Hindu scriptures, Devprayag is the sacred event of merging two visible heavenly rivers, Alakananda and Bhagirathi, to form the holy Ganga. Its believed that a third river, the mythical Saraswati river is underground and meets these two rivers at the confluence.

Rudranath Temple trek

Trek starts from Sagar village which is approx 03 km from Gopeshwar. The other trek starts from Mandal which is 12 km from Gopeshwar. This trek goes through Anusuya devi temple. Trek is very hard with a distance of approx 24 km.

Nainital lake

This is , a 136-m long, wood-lined stairway, near in , said to be about 150 years old. The 2.5 km trek to the site is one of the most exhilarating and stunning treks in the state — that was opened to visitors in 2021, after almost 59 years. The route, once used for trading purposes, had disintegrated and was dysfunctional after the Indo-China war in 1962. The 1.8m wide bridge was later reconstructed, over the gushing river. Do you know, this is the same bridge that Harrer had used to escape to from India during World War II— a famous story that also inspired the film, , starring .
