A big salute to legends.
LAUNCHING TODAY: The Big Mountain Cleanup
K2 and Everest are majestic – but their environment and communities are under threat. On average, every climber generates 18 pounds of waste while there – this includes abandoned tents, oxygen cannisters, food and water containers, left over equipment and of course, human waste.
Waste products have a big impact on the mountains and the people who call them home– pollutants are being washed into rivers by rainfall and snowmelt, contaminating water supplies for local populations and posing serious health risks from disease. In addition to this, we must also ensure safety for all on the mountain and put a stop to the needless fatalities that are occurring due to climbers accidentally clipping onto old, rotten and forgotten lines.
The Nimsdai team and I, believe we all must do our part to step up and make a change. We have a zero-tolerance approach to waste on our Elite Expeditions and make sure we bring back everything we take up. So, today is the launch of The Big Mountain Clean Up.
We are looking for partners to drive awareness, support and help fund our mission to build a programme providing full time seasonal clean up teams for the mountains that need it most. This will be paired with regional recycling initiatives.
We are starting during the Summer K2 season, and we need socially responsible game changers to join us and help clean as many mountains as possible - creating a cleaner, brighter future for the mountain environment and everyone who calls it home.

Just to be clear, it’s not only K2 we are cleaning up , we will be cleaning Everest next year, Manaslu a year after then it goes on 🙌🏽🙏🏽 Ref to K2 clean up, we will be supporting Sajid (son of Ali Sadpara) in his endeavour.
