Purul is a beautiful village surrounded by paddy fields. A mountain that comes almost full circle gives the look of an arena, making the picturesque valley a scenic haven. It is one of the biggest villages of Poumai Naga tribe and situated 19 km from the National Highway 2 in Senapati District, Manipur. People of Purul are known for hospitality and the villa

ge one of the favourite venues in the region for social events. Thousands of people from all walks of life join the festivities on Paoki (paddy transplantation festival), which falls in the month of May. Guests, who come for the 3-day Paoki festival, are treated with free food, drinks and shelter. Purulians are peace-loving people and enthusiastic entertainers. The village has produced 7 films, 30 audio albums and a few documentaries. “The Hunters”, which was formed in early 1980s, is in Manipur Chronicle for being the first rock band in the state. “Ihai Moe Ali Bai-e”, which hit the theatres in 1992, was the first film in Senapati district. The people of the village continue to produce audio albums at regular intervals. Every place has its own uniqueness and specialty, and so too is Purul. So, this fan page has been created with an aim to share the rich cultural heritage and beauty of the village. It’s a great joy to share the little Purul has with other fellow human beings around the world. The joy of sharing and growing together is immense.

The date for the most awaited rice plantation festival, the so call PAOKI festival, has been officially announced and it will fall on 1st -2nd & 3rd of May 2023.

Host : Purul/Hiimai
Venue : Purul Akutpa, Biina Village.

The customary first day celebration will fall on 1st May and it is called RANAI ZHOU.

The second day celebration, ie on 2nd May is called THAOPAI ZHOU.

&

The main celebration will fall on 3rd May and is called KHANAI ZHOU.

Rosofii gets the first sunrise and that’s why the color of the sunrise is much warmer and deeper here as compared to Atongba and Akutpa. The brown and reddish foliage of the fall season also adds to the warm hue. Such a beauty.

Six days or more until early Sunday morning village church bell rang, without even a word touch my heart and broke me down and realise every thing I have been through is just a sin.No one calls to come but as the church bell rang people themselves come to Worship God and seek forgiveness. Sweetest tones for the sinners.
