*SILIGURI POLICE TRAFFIC UPDATE:*

Due to incessant rain a pillar of Balason Bridge at Matigara has been affected.

1) Taking into consideration the safety of the citizens, movement of traffic over the bridge has been temporarily suspended.

2)*ONLY TWO WHEELERS AND PEDESTRIANS SHALL BE ALLOWED TO CROSS THE BRIDGE. *

3) All three wheeler and above vehicles coming from Bagdogra side are requested to take a right turn from Shivmandir underpass and take the Naukaghat road.

4) All vehicles going to Bagdogra from Siliguri, Darjeeling Kalimpong, Duars and Sikkim are requested to take the Eastern bypass Road or Hill Cart Road and Burdawan Road to reach Naukaghat and take the Kawakhali/ NBMC road to reach Shivmandir and Bagdogra side.

5) Additionally vehicles going to Bagdogra from Darjeeling, Mirik & Kurseong side are advised to take Gadidhura, Panighata, Bengdubi route for quicker and safe travel.

*All are advised to avoid NON ESSENTIAL TRAVEL as much as possible & until the weather improves. *

Due to the heavy rains yesterday and the situation continues today a lot of Tourists are stranded at many places. Vehicles prices have escalated as flights have been cancelled. People are in distress. As a responsible organization EHTTOA has come forward and decided to provide help. Our members are ready to volunteer. We will provide help with regards to Hotel & Vehicle availability at a reasonable price so that Tourists are not harrassed. If some tourists are stranded at any place we can coordinate with the local administration and arrange rescue operations. We also thnk our members, who have come forward during these difficult times for our trade.
