How amazing it is to see and know that our Darjeeling has more to offer than just hills, 7 sightseeing points ,food and culture to tourists.

Miss Neomi Gasper from Hungary came to Darjeeling to visit the graveyard of the Alexander Cosma De Koros who was a Hungarian Linguist, philologist, traveller and Orientalist, born in Koros, Hungary on 4th April 1784. He was the author of the first Tibetan-English dictionary and grammar book. In 1842 he planned to travel to Lhasa but he was destined to go only as far as Darjeeling and unfortunately, he contracted Malaria during the travels in the Terai and died from the fever in Darjeeling. The tomb is located in the Old Cemetery on the Lebong Cart Road in Darjeeling.

Mr. Chettri who have been taking care of the cemetery told us how people from Hungary and other countries come here and show their respect and emotions.
