The hostel also organises adventure activities. It has conference hall as well. The hostel has indoor and open air restaurants as well.

The Youth Hostel was constructed by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir with a view to provide dormitary accomodation to the budget tourists, Amarnath Pilgrims, adventurers and naturalists. The Youth Hostel, Sonamarg does not only provide budgeted accomodation but is also organising adventure activities like river rafting, ski-touring, trekking, climbing, mountain biking and paragliding etc. The

hostel is well equiped with modern indoor sports like billiards, snooker, table tennis, chess, carom and Gym apparatus. It is situated amidst of lofty mountains,and pine trees with a commanding view of river sindh.
