On the occasion of India's National Tourism Day, I aim to unveil another concealed paradise within our nation: Kanger Valley National Park, Chhattisgarh.

Nestled in the enchanting Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, Kanger Valley National Park emerges as a captivating haven for nature enthusiasts. With the scenic Kanger River flowing through its biodiverse sanctuary, the park is home to the Bastar Hill myna, the state bird of Chhattisgarh.

The park has recently introduced kayaking and bamboo rafting on the Kanger River. Bamboo rafting provides a serene and immersive experience as visitors float down the river on intricately crafted bamboo rafts, guided by skilled rafters using long sticks. Kayaking, on the other hand, promises a more adventurous ride, expertly maneuvered by seasoned guides amid the lush greenery of the park. Both activities provide a unique perspective of the park's natural beauty, ensuring a memorable and refreshing escapade.

TANOT MATA TEMPLE

Tanot Mata temple is a hidden gem that lies in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, very close to India's border with Pakistan. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Tanot and is also known as 'Temple of Miracles'. Despite the shelling of 3000 bombs from the Pakistan border, not one exploded in the vicinity of the temple. The unexploded bombs are till date treasured in the Tanot Museum within the temple premises.

After the war, the temple was handed over to the Border Security Force of India who continues to manage the Temple. Indian army built a Vijay Sthamba within the temple premises, and every year on December 16 a celebration takes place to commemorate the victory of India over Pakistan.

HORNBILL FESTIVAL 2021

The Hornbill Festival, an annual 10-day tourism extravaganza held at Naga Heritage Village in Kisama near Kohima, Nagaland was scheduled to end on December 10.

However, all festivities were called off earlier as a mark of respect, for those killed at Oting in Mon district and in solidarity with the bereaved families.

Travel Savvy organized a ladies group trip to the Hornbill Festival. Sharing a few pics from the first few days of the festivities.

KAS PLATEAU GROUP TRIP 2021

Travel Savvy organized a weekend group trip to Kas Plateau on 25th September 2021.

It was an overnight bus journey and we reached Satara at 5 am. After freshening up and having breakfast, we proceeded for Kas plateau.

There were patches of pink, white and yellow flowers at some places. The weather was awesome and the scenery from the plateau was amazing. It was a long walk on an unending trail. We also went to the Kas lake and had a great time there.
