Eversince Rancho and Pia met at the Pangong Lake and Chatur had to run for his pants in 3 idiots in the year 2009 the lake has been a major pull for the tourists. Every year lakhs of tourists undertake a treacherous journey from Leh passing through the Changla pass to visit Pangong. They even stay overnight at the camps at Pangong (not very comfortable) just to be at the side of the lake at 8 am which is the best time to click pictures there. On my recent visit to Pangong I was fortunate to put my hands on a KTM. Enjoyed the ride thoroughly (Sorry for not wearing a Helmet)
The Prayer Flags
The Tibetan prayer flags have magnetically fascinated a lot of travelers like me. These flags coupled with Tibetan enchanting make the aura quiet serene. Be it on a glacier, a monastery on a mountain top, a tea stall in a riverside valley, around a village home, on a secluded stupa or may be on a motorbike of a traveler, the prayer flags make a beautiful foreground to any background they appear on. The fluttering of flags is considered auspicious and so is the gifting of it to your loved ones. We often see faded flags being maintained, this is because it is believed that the prayers were carried by the breeze. They are said to bring happiness, long life and prosperity to the flag planter and those in the vicinity. Tibetan people plant prayer flags to honor the nature Gods. All the Five Color elements have a discrete significance.
• Blue for sky or space
• White for air or clouds
• Red for fire
