Messier Marathon 2024
Messier Marathon 2024 Alert !!!
Astro Nomad Life is organising a special marathon from March 08 to March 10, 2024 in Chail where the participants are going to explore the night sky with 6-8 inch dobsonian telescopes looking for all 110 messier objects in the night sky.
Messier Marathon, a special annual celebration for astronomers, astronomy enthusiasts and Astrophilers, celebrating the unparalleled work done by famount 17th century astronomer Charles Messier. Along with discovering 13 comets, he is credited with over 100 Deep Space Objects which are the most observed, searced, and talked about objects outsite of out solar system. These objects are classified as Messier’s list honouring the discoverer.
The Sun is placed in the sky at such a point in out sky that all 110 objects in the list can be spotted in one night and this is what fascinates us the most, a fun challenge to observe all 110 objects in one night. So get ready to spend two nights of specatucal, breathtaking night skies of Himalayas, looking from medium sized aperture telescopes and binoculars.

Partial Lunar Eclipse 2023
On 28, 2023 grazed through ‘s shadow and we witnessed a
The eclipse was partial and only a part of moon went through Earth’s umbral shadow. The moon was entirely under Earth’s penumbral shadow.
The shape of shadow shows Earth is round and shape of Earth was discovered or realised through watching eclipses.
Lunar eclipse will take place in 2025. Till then enjoy…

Lagoon, Triffid in one frame
Lagoon Nebula and Triffid Nebula are two large clouds of gas and dust in our own galaxy and seen in the constellation of along the band of as seen in the summer skies.
Both nebula are about 4200-4700 LY from earth.
Taken during in Chail conducted in April, the participants were really excited seeing the initial images on screen.
