Dodital Trek/Dodital Lake
Dodital trek is just 16 km from the place and that's the basis of the name Dodital Home Stay. Dodital is a freshwater lake situated at 10,000 ft above sea level. Based on 'Shivpuran''Dodital is known as the birth place of Lord Ganesha, hence the name ''Dhundi Tal'', ''Dundi'' meaning lord Ganesha and ''Tal'' is lake, which means lake of the lord Ganesha. Mainly it is a 4-5 days trek but people can complete it in just 3 days. Enthusiastic people crossed the Darwa pass and reached Hanuman Chatti/Yamunotri in Same time period. Dayara Bugyal
Dayara bugyal, is a second highest visited trekking destination in Uttarakhand situated on 3500 elevation from sea level. Trekkers want peace and a clean trail to reach the destination. Agora to Dayara Bugyal is becoming the second best option for trekkers. Mukta Top-
Mukta Top, is a new place for trek lovers, situated at up to 11000 ft above sea level next to the Dayara Bugyal. There is an old route (20 km) to go Mukta top, and a new trail that begins from the Kaflun (16 km back) started by Tata Steel Company a few years back for their outdoors courses purpose. All pilgrims start from the Agora village. Angling-
If your hobby is to chase the Brown Trout, then you can just take to the road and head 3 km down at Assi Ganga River. This river length is around 50 km from Dodital to Gangori. Personally I love to go through the river and chase the fish across the dense forest and lots of waterfalls and pools. Explore Flora & Fauna-
Assi Ganga Valley is rich in flora & Fauna, up to 10,000 kinds of herbs, 200 kinds of birds and many types of mammals and reptiles are found in this area. Cultural tour –
I Hate to say, we could be the last witness of our culture, another just it will be seen in photographs. Agora village has a colourful culture like other parts of Garhwal area. You can capture the festivals, daily routine, clothes, traditional farming and many other kinds of pictures here. We live in the same village, so we are here around most of the time. We can help with any enquiries about trekking, sightseeing and can also arrange porters to carry up luggage, guides, taxis and info about the area. House rules (optional)
We try to keep it very simple without much effort, and help us to keep the place clean. Dodital Homestay situated in the village area. We request you to not disturb the locals and keep the noise to a minimum. Additionally a respect for locals and our culture is expected out of the visitors. how can guests get to your property? To reach Agora 28 km from Uttarkashi distt. And come to Uttarkashi are two way.
• How Can reach Uttarkashi - Agora Village

Via Dehradun (168 km/7 h) – This is a Shorter route to reach Dodital Agora Village. (Deharadun – Mussoorie – Suaa kholi (left turn), Moriyana Top - Chinyalishour – Uttarkashi – Gangotri - Agora).

*Suaa Kholi- This place is around 6-7 km ahead from Mussoorie. From there take left and do not go straight because it’s a long route.

*Gangori- Gangori is a small town 5 km on the Gangotri highway. cross a big iron bridge and just 100 m ahead take a left to turn towards Sangam Chatti Road.

• Via Rishikesh – 190 km / 8h (Rishikesh – Chamba – Chiniyalisour – Uttarkashi- Gangotri - Agora)

*Gangori- Gangori is a small town 5 km on the Gangotri highway. cross a big iron bridge and just 100 m ahead take a left to turn towards Sangam Chatti Road. After Gangori the road to agora comes through the villages and dense forest and farm till Agora village. The road ends up just above the village, Red roof house is Dodital homestay which is easily visible from the road. Approximate distance is 100 m down from the road. When arriving,

We are ready 24 hour to welcome our guests here. But our advice will be that at night driving is risky in hilly areas. For your knowledge Uttarkashi to Agora (28 km/2h) road is under construction which makes driving a little more difficult. In this situation stay at Uttarkashi, we will be happy to keep your booking continuing for the next day if there is not any booking confirmed already.

A path to walk, a vision in mind, and a purposeless life, is what the life of a yogi is. All that he focuses on is where he is going and what he is into, which is exactly what living in the present means, dedicating oneself completely for the task at hand, considering present, as past and the future.

Although everybody cannot adapt the lifestyle of a yogi, well that is why he is called a yogi, because we have many meaningful tasks to complete, dedicated for a purpose which stands somewhere in the distant future, ignoring a hell lot of life at present.

But remember the time when you last enjoyed yourself, that is exactly what connects this materialistic world with soul, that is exactly why we all are working and indulging ourselves in the futile tasks of life, talking about life as whole, without dividing into fragments.

Why do you think we climb mountains, we work so hard, we run towards money, we workout, we walk alone, we love people, and all that drama of life, what is the need? That need is no different, from why the yogi seen in the picture above, is walking his path to 'Goumukh' (source where the river Ganges begins its pointless journey, to become one with the body of water that contains all the bodies of water on the planet), to dip in the holy water, he is also looking for that connection we all are longing everyday.

The difference is that the path is no different for him than the destination, he enjoys both equally, being a 'Yogi'.

I hope this gave you a fair enough picture of what life is. The people of my village, I consider them no less than a Yogi, it's just like their paths are different. Village life is not chaotic, its as simple as the flow of water.

Come and stay in a home, I call it a homestay, and experience life as it is, away from citylights, where darkness is also pleasing.
