Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh is being developed by GMR Airports Ltd. through its subsidiary GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Ltd. (GVIAL) with a three phase master plan to ultimately handle 18 passengers per annum (MPPA).

Bhogapuram Airport’s foundation stone for construction was laid on May 3, 2023 and a Bhoomi Pujan was held on November 1, 2023.

This new greenfield airport is estimated to cost Rs. 4592 crore and located 60 km north of Visakhapatnam (Vizag) on a 2203 acre site. It will initially be developed with a capacity to handle 6 MPPA (million passengers per annum) and have an ultimate capacity of 18 MPPA.

In 2019, GVIAL was awarded a contract to design, finance, operate & maintain Bhogapuram Airport for 40 years, extendable by additional 20 years.
Larsen & Toubro was awarded the civil construction contract for the airport’s construction for an undisclosed value ranging between Rs. 2500 – 5000 crore. Their scope of work includes construction of a terminal building, 3800m runway, apron, taxiways and other miscellaneous airport systems and landside facilities.

శ్రీ కాళీమాత ఆలయం
ఇది విశాఖ జిల్లా కేంద్రమైన విశాఖపట్టణంలో సాగర తీరాన కలదు.
మన వైజాగ్ లో రామకృష్ణ బీచ్ తెలియని వారు ఉండరు. బీచ్ లో కాళీమాత ఆలయం తెలియని వారు ఉండరు.
కానీ దాని వెనుక చాలా కథ ఉంది.
సుమారు 60 సంవత్సరాల క్రితం చాలా మంది నివాసానికి ఇళ్ల స్థలాలు కొనుక్కున్నారు. అందరిలాగే ఒక బెంగాలీ బాబు కుడా స్థలం కొనుక్కున్నాడు.
ఒకరోజు రాత్రి ఇంట్లో నిద్రపోతుండగా కలలో శ్రీ రామకృష్ణపరమహంస కనబడి, నేను శ్రీ కాళీమాత ఆలయం కట్టిద్దామని అనుకుంటున్నాను బీచ్ లో ఉన్న మీ స్థలం నాకు ఇవ్వగలరా అని అడిగారు, అలాగే మహాత్మా తీసుకోండి అని మాట ఇచ్చారు, వెంటనే స్వామి అదృశ్యామయ్యారు. ఈయనకు వెంటనే తెలివి వచ్చింది, తన చుట్టూ చూస్తే ఎవరూలేరు, కలకన్నాను అనుకుని నిద్ర పోయాడు కానీ మనసులో ఎదో తెలియని అలజడి. ఉదయం నిద్ర లేచి నేరుగా బీచ్ లో ఉన్న రామకృష్ణ మిషన్ కి వెళ్లి అక్కడ ఉన్న స్వామీజీలకు రాత్రి తను కన్న కల విశేషాలను వివరించారు, అది విన్న స్వామీజీలు ఆశ్చర్యంతో అవాక్కయ్యారు, అనంతరం స్వామీజీలు అతని అభిప్రాయం అడిగారు, నేను కలలో స్వామీజీ కి వాగ్దానం చేసాను మాట తప్పే ప్రసక్తే లేదని చెప్పి ఆ స్థలాన్ని రామకృష్ణ మిషన్ కి వ్రాసి ఇచ్చేసారు.
అనంతరం రామకృష్ణ మిషన్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో, దాతల సహాయంతో శ్రీ కాళీమాత ఆలయ నిర్మాణం జరిగింది.
ఆలయ ప్రారంభోత్సవ సందర్బంగా అధికార, అనధికార ప్రముఖుల సమక్షంలో స్వామీజీలు ఆ బీచ్ కి రామకృష్ణ బీచ్ అని నామకరణం చేయడమైనది.
వైజాగులో స్థిరపడిన దయానంద ధర్మగారు ఈ ఆలయాన్ని ప్రముఖంgaa నిర్మించారు. అతడు సర్వ మతములను సమంగా chuaseavaaru. అందుచేతనే అతnu నాలుగు ధర్మాలకు సంబంధించిన ఆలయాలను ప్రతిష్టించాడు. ఆలయాలలో విగ్రహాలను ప్రతిష్ఠించేటపుడు స్వధర్మానికి చెందిన చిహ్నాలను గూడ ఆ విగ్రహాల పునాదులలో ఉంచి staapana cheayimchaaru. ఆ విధంగా కట్టబడిన ఆలయమే ఇదట గల కాళీమాత ఆలయం.
ఈ కాశీమాతను ఆరాధించియే నవ్యమానవుడు రామకృష్ణపరమహంసగా మారాడని మనకందరకూ telisina విషయం. ఆ కాళీమాత విగ్రహము ఈచోట ప్రతిష్టించే సమయంలో, ఛటర్జీగారు సర్వమత సమభావమును ప్రదర్శించుతూ దేవీ యంత్రమునే గాక క్రైస్తవ చిహ్నమైన శిలువ, ముస్లిమ్ కమైన చంద్రవంకను గూడ ఫలకం మీద చిత్రించి, ఆ ఫలకం మీద దేవి విగ్రహమును ప్రతిష్టింప జేయించాru.
అదే విధంగా ఇచట గల రసలింగేశ్వరం అన్న పేరు గల శివాలయం పైన వైష్ణవ చిహ్నాలను చెక్కించి, శైవ, వైష్ణవములక్కొటే, వానిలో భేధభావం లేదని చాటి చెప్పాడు. అదే విధంగా బుద్ధ విగ్రహలను క్రైస్తవ మాతయైన వేలంకినీ మాత విగ్రహమును ప్రతిష్టింపజేశారు.
ఈ విధంగా అతడు సర్వమత సమభావమును ప్రదర్శించుకూ ఇచట నెలకొల్పిన అందులలో వ్రాయబడియున్న "సర్వమత సామరస్యత, మానవత్వం, మూర్తీభవించిన సంఘ రణాభిలాషులకు స్వాగతం" అనేక రూపాలు, పేర్లతో పూజలందుకొంటున్న భగవానుడొక్కడే" అన్న వాక్యాలు అతని భావాలను తెలియజేయుచుండును.
ఈ ఆలయాలలో కాళీమాత ఆలయానికి ఎడము దితగా శివాలయమును, శివాలయమునకు ముందు భాగాన బౌద్ధ విగ్రహమును, ఉండగా, కాకీమాత ఆలయానికి ముందుభాగాన వినాయక విగ్రహమును, వాయువ్యభాగాన వేలంకినీ
మాత ఉంటారు.

History of L.B College 1973:
Lankapalli Bullayya (1918–1992) was an innovative Indian educator and vice-chancellor of Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh. He was the first Dalit to be appointed vice-chancellor of an Indian university.

Bullayya was born in 1918 in Peravali, near Vemuru, Guntur district He had to travel long distances to receive his education. Bullayya received a B.A. degree with honours from Andhra University, and served as principal of a B.Ed. college in Kurnool. He later became a District Educational Officer in Kurnool, Krishna and other districts and served in the Education Department as a senior-level officer. After the formation of Andhra State in 1953, Bullayya was appointed Director of Public Instruction. As Director of Higher Education for the government of Andhra Pradesh, he was instrumental in bringing about educational reform.

He considered the 10+2+3 plan in Andhra Pradesh before it was recommended by the Kothari Commission. In November 1968, Bullaya was appointed vice-chancellor, continuing in that post until December 1974. He sympathised with socially- and economically-disadvantaged students, and was concerned about their welfare. Six affiliated colleges were permitted to establish postgraduate departments in selected subjects for the purpose of decentralisation. Coaching classes for civil-service examinations and the Continuing Education Scheme were introduced. For the first time in South India, a School of Correspondence Courses was established due to Bullayya's efforts. When university buildings were damaged after the 1970 cyclone which struck Visakhapatnam Bullayya showed photographs of the damage to University Grants Commission authorities in New Delhi, seeking grants for the repair of the buildings. The UGC granted funds not only for repairs, but for constructing new buildings.

Bullayya later served at the Union Public Service Commission in an advisory capacity on behalf of Telugu-speaking candidates at the UPSC Interview Board. He was chairman of the Andhra Pradesh and all-India units of the Boy Scouts and a director on the Andhra Bank Board. Bullayya's wife, Samyuktha, was also an educator and former chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Housing Board. His brother's sons Lankapally Ramesh Babu and Suresh Babu are public servants in Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Hyderabad. Dr. Bullayya College at Visakhapatnam was named after him. He founded Dr. V.S. Krishna Government College in remembrance of his predecessor, vice-chancellor Vasireddy Sri Krishna, and was more concerned about that school than the one named after himself. A bust of Bullayya has been installed in the School of Distance Education in Visakhapatnam.

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) announced Amazon will be setting up a facility in Visakhapatnam in 2023.

The largest online retailer will be making an initial investment of Rs 55. 65 lakhs with approximately 120 jobs in an Amazon system software development and IT-based service centre in Visakhapatnam. STPI took to Twitter to make this announcement on Monday and said that the projected software export is likely Rs 184.12 crores in the next three years.

After Infosys, Amazon is the second major company entering tier II and tier III cities across the state. Currently, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Fluentgrid, Cyient, WNS and other companies have been conducting operations from Visakhapatnam.

In another recent development, the State Government has also allotted 130 acres of land to the Adani Group for setting up a tech park at an estimated cost of Rs 14,500 crores.

INS Kalinga is an Indian Navy establishment reporting to the Eastern Naval Command.It is responsible for preparing, storing and delivering advanced missiles to ships of the Eastern Fleet. INS Kalinga was commissioned in 21 Nov 1985. Over the past 26 years, the establishment has grown into a fully fledged Station with co-located units such as MARCOS (E), NAD (V), NAI (V) and MES. The station is spread over an area of 734.1 acres and consists of over 900 service and civilian personnel with their families. INS Kalinga is located on the Visakhapatnam - Bheemunipatnam beach road about 40 kilometers north east of the Visakhapatnam Naval Base.
