Summer nights under the starry sky in Leh. Clear icy skies make the best canvas for stargazing and what a phenomenal feeling to be laying on the ground, head facing the infinite sky and watching the twinkling objects form various constellations.

P.S - Can you spot the arm of the milky way?

Happy Independence Day, India. You will always be number one in our hearts.

Let us remember the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and be thankful for the freedom we have today. We salute all of our soldiers who work tirelessly to protect its citizens, as well as our fellow Indian comrades who help shape India into what it is today.

Nope, we can’t just land on any planet!

Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune are four gas giants in the universe making it near impossible to land on.

Did you know that the Moon has a gravitational pull on Earth, causing it to be slightly egg-shaped? It has a greater impact on water, causing tides and oceans to pile up on one side of the planet, forming a 'tidal bulge.' As the Moon orbits, this bulge is dragged along with it. Because Earth rotates faster than the Moon (24 hours versus 27.3 days), the bulge moves

slightly ahead of the Moon's orbit. The Moon pulls back on it, effectively slowing it down, causing the Earth's rotation rate to gradually slow down over time. The tugging between the two bodies causes the Earth to lose energy while the Moon gains energy.

The Moon is slowly spiralling outwards as a result of this energy boost, moving away from us by 3.8cm per year. Fascinating!

Our days are lengthening! Every year, the Earth's spin speed slows, and it takes a little longer to complete one full revolution on its axis. Earth slows by 1/500th of a second every century; in 1,000 years, one day will be two hundredths of a second longer than today. Small change, but who knew?

We take our crew members' health very seriously, which is why we will take all necessary precautions when dealing with Acute Mountain Sickness. If you're visiting Ladakh we'd like to help you understand Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS).

What exactly is AMS?
Acute Mountain Sickness occurs due to a lack of oxygen at high altitudes and our bodies' inability to adjust to low oxygen levels in the air. It is distinguished by the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, anorexia, fatigue or weakness, dizziness or lightheadedness, and sleep deprivation.
The best and most effective way to combat AMS is to fully acclimate within the first two days of arrival in Leh. Drink plenty of fluids, rest, avoid alcohol, and take Diamox (tablet) as needed to help relieve your symptoms. Remember to always contact your organisers if you encounter any problems.

The oceans of Earth may not be that unusual. Underwater seas are thought to exist on three of Jupiter's moons (Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto) and two of Saturn's (Enceladus (pictured above) and Titan). The ocean on Europa may contain more than twice the volume of water found on Earth. The most water ever discovered, however, surrounds a black hole 12 billion lightyears away. This region contains massive amounts of water vapour, equivalent to 140 trillion times the volume of water in the Earth's oceans.

Did you know that the sun loses a billion kilograms every second?? However, our star will someday expand to be greater than we can comprehend, engulfing the inner planets, including Earth. The sun has roughly 7 billion to 8 billion years remaining until it sputters out and dies, according to astronomers.

The 2022 theme for the World Ocean Day is Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean.

We are all connected, sustained, and supported by the ocean. However, we are equally to blame for its deterioration, which has brought it to the brink of collapse. As previous years have shown, we must work together to develop a new equilibrium with the ocean, one that restores its vibrancy and feeds it new life rather than draining its bounty.

India is home to two prominent exploration sites: Ladakh & Kutch.

These two areas provide Mars-like settings that aid in the research and investigation of Earth's origins, climate change's impact, and future exploration routes.
