No. 12 Vank Cathedral
The holy Vank cathedral is one of the most beautiful historical sites of that has been built in early 17th century by an Armenian priest in cooperation with hundreds of thousands of Armenians in Jolfa district of Esfahan that they were forcibly settled by Shah Abbas I.

Although there are several local stories about the name of this church locals are of the opinion that its original name was Surp Amena Perkij Vank where is one of the holiest places in Armenia. Today it is Shortly called Vank church, however, vank means a monastery in Armenian language.

According to the history of Armenians in 17th century, they were in an unequal battle with Ottomans and Armenians were looking for a safe place to move. At first, they moved in to northwestern Iran and named the region Jolfa in order to remember their country of origin, but they still had problems with ottomans because there, was not too far from borders

No. 11 Esfahan Friday Mosque
Esfahan Friday Mosque (Locally called Jameh Mosque) is one of the world heritage sites of Esfahan which dates back to 771 AH and has been a place where it was completed continually, reconstructed, additions, renovated and etc. This mosque has been built in Omavid dynasty as a congregational mosque and according to history of this mosque, it’s been a worshiping place for Zoroastrians. It’s well noted that this mosque was mostly completed in Seljuk era and mostly by Sultan Malik Shah because of their tiles work and bricks work are still available, however, some of the details are gone or replaced with new methods from different dynasty.

This Mosque is known as four Iwani (4 porticos) that either of these are from different periods and got picked up a particular name. The southern one which is from Seljuk era is called Saheb and the rest of them are Dervish, Student, Master.

Decoration of this mosque is not only remarkable from courtyard but also has been fabulous from inside the halls too. It’s been a competition between two ministers of Seljuk in order to build their own extraordinary domed hall and from architectural point of view, both are brilliantly done with local artists and materials.

No 10. Chehel Sotoun Palace
Chehel Sotoun Palace, locally called Kakh-e Chehel Sotoun is a veritable museum of Persian painting and ceramics in It was a pleasure pavilion of Safavid and used for the king’s entertainment’s and receptions.

It stands inside a vast royal park, but relatively near the enclosure, and was founded by Shah Abbas I and it was named Divan Khaneh. It’s been translated into Seat of Govt. It was expanded by Shah Abbas II especially front view and porticos.

An inscription states that the decoration and frescoes were finished in 1647. Only two large historical frescoes date from the later period of the Zand dynasty. Unfortunately, the Chehel Sotoun has been badly damaged at the end of this empire and later on, by several invaders especially, when the Afghans occupied the town and covered the paintings with a thick coat of whitewash. It is now being extensively restored under the aegis of the Institute Italiano Per il Medio Orient

No. 8 Fire temple
There is no doubt that one of the most impressive historical sites of is the ancient fire temple that has been built by Iranian Zoroastrians.

Relatively recently people are getting more interested in visiting ancient sites of Iran especially Fire Temples of Zoroastrians that are located in Yazd. Back to Sassanid, there were several fire temples for monarchs and his army, for priests as well as for ordinary people and either of the people had set a religious activity in their own temple in certain time of the year. For example from Sept 2nd till 6th they would all gather at AzarGoshanasb temple that they strongly believe, there was Zoroaster place of Birth

They were practicing their religion till Islam came through Persia and at the beginning of Islamic periods they were not having decent time and this was the reason for many Zoroastrians to immigrate to another country such as India. Or even they could have stayed in Iran but they must convert to Islam.

In early 20th century Iranian Zoroastrians and Indian Zoroastrians decided to have a proper temple in yazd and they founded this temple by bringing back this flame to their own community. What makes this Temple very fascinating is, none stop burning flame that has been kept for 1500 years since it has been founded.

The structure of all temples are similar and there is a reception hall for prayers and visitors, flame room as well as rooms for priest and library. People every day come to visit this temple and are fascinating to learn more about this religion.
If you are looking for visiting this unique site, please refer to the link below in order to get acquainted with Iran's trips.

No. 7 Towers of silence
There is no doubt that Towers of Silence is one of the most impressive historical sites of Yazd. It can make traveling to Yazd very exceptional in terms of being exposed to different religion of Zoroastrianism. This religion has been used by ancient kings of Persia and they have had their own properties all over the country.

For example Towers of Silence has been used as a cemetery. Culturally in ancient days of Iran people were of the opinion that everyone would go to better life after death and here relatives must respect to co**se and even to 4 elements of life such as fire, water, wind and earth. There were not allowed to mix co**se with any of these elements although they were attending to purify co**se and they were strongly believe all human are from nature and would return to nature too.

As a travel consultant there are few advantages of taking guided tour of Yazd such as getting acquainted better with this religion by climbing at these towers, walking randomly around the spot as well as getting transferred back to city center due to its location.

There is no doubt that Towers of Silence is one of the most impressive historical sites of Yazd. It can make traveling to Yazd very exceptional

The 4th highlight of trip to Iran is Naqsh-e Jahan SQ also known as the 2nd largest square of the world. Naqsh-e Jahan square is one of the most impressive sites of Iran which dates back to early 17th century and has been built by Shah Abbas I. It has been registered as a world heritage site in 1979.
There is no doubt that anyone travels to Esfahan and not visit such a impressive site which contains some monuments from this dynasty including Royal Mosque, Aali Qapu Palace, Sheikh Lotf Allah mosque as well as Qeysariyeh Bazaar.

In safavid dynasty especially in 16th century there was always discussions to move the capital from Ardabil to anywhere in the middle of country in order to preserve the kingdom due to having several issues with Ottoman Empire. It had happened already the 2nd king of this dynasty Tahmasb that he moved the capital from Ardbil to Qazvin but still issues were existed.

In early 17th century Shah Abbas I decided to move the political capital from Qazvin to Esfahan and sort out all issues as they were away from borders. In his period he was struggling to build an impressive square for his kingdom and hired several artists from all over this empire to design a unique pattern.

Welcome to Naqsh-e Jahan SQ also known as the 2nd largest square of the world. Naqsh-e Jahan square is one of the most impressive sites
