There are many traditional bazaars in Iran. Vakil Bazaar is one of them which has a rich history of more than 2000 years and it is located in the center of Shiraz, Iran. During the Zandyeh dynasty (AD 1747–79), Shiraz was the capital and so many beautiful mosques and buildings were built and renovated.

It was built in 11th Century by Karim Khan as part of a plan to make Shiraz into an eminent trading center. Nowadays, it’s not only a traditional place but also a place where local people do their shopping.

Pomegranate trees with their bacciferous fruits have had ancient history in Iran. These trees were planted in temples in the era of Zoroastrianism. People use to burn the woods of this tree in order to get hidden devils out of their houses. They actually pasteurized their houses by doing so.

Pomegranate has special position in traditional medicine and great people like Ebn Sina and Abu Reyhan Birooni have written a lot about its advantages. These beautiful pomegranate seeds are so useful for heart to stay healthy, they cure stomachache, delay senescence, and keeps you safe from cancer and Alzheimer.

Iran is the last habitat of the precious Asiatic Cheetah. Even up to half a century ago, the species was widespread across the Indian subcontinent and Central and South-West Asia.

31 August marks National Cheetah Day in Iran.

It is now estimated that approximately 50 Asiatic Cheetahs are living in the wild in Iran. But the numbers appear to be rising again as a result of the establishment of protected areas and the vigilance of game guards who try to protect the animals from poachers.

Exploring ancient Persian heritage
Have you ever visited the great and ancient country; Iran?
Do you know about it’s history and kingdoms such as Achaemenid dynasty
In 539 B.C.E., King Cyrus decided to expand the boundaries of Persia. He began by conquering Babylon. Unlike Assyrian kings, Cyrus was known for his mercy rather than his cruelty.
For example, he allowed the Hebrews, who had been captives in Babylon for over fifty years to return to the holy city of Jerusalem, instead of turning them into slaves. He returned sacred items that were stolen from them and allowed the rebuilding of their capital and the temple.
Cyrus also allowed the Hebrews to continue living and worshiping as they chose. The Jewish prophet, Isaiah, called Cyrus "God's shepherd," and said that "God would go before him and level the mountains."
Cyrus's generosity toward the Jews was not an isolated event. He and his successors employed a policy of adaptation and reconciliation toward all of their new subjects. They cooperated with local rulers and interfered as little as possible in matters that did not directly relate to their rule. They respected local traditions and even adopted some of their subjects' religious practices for themselves.

Have you ever visited Iran? Do you know about Iran’s historical places? If you have Iran on your travel’s list I recommend you to visit an old village near Kashan called Abyaneh.
Abyaneh is a beautiful historic village at the foot of Karkass mountain near Kashan. This is a village of living traditions, architectural styles (all in red clay), and probably the most interesting example of human adaptation to nature, wherein one can transcend the boundaries of time and space and experience the ancient civilization and culture of Iran.

We look forward to sharing our beautiful country, culture, and art with you.

The art of minakary
The art of Minakari or Enamelling is called miniature of fire as well as the decoration of metal and tile with mina glaze. Minakari or Enamelling is the art of painting, coloring and ornamenting the surface of metals by fusing over it brilliant colors that are decorated in an intricate design.
Mina is the feminine form of Minoo in Persian, meaning heaven. Mina refers to the Azure color of heaven. The Iranian craftsmen of Sasanied era invented this art and Mongols spreaded it to India and other countries. French tourist, Jean Chardin, who toured Iran during the Safavid rule, made a reference to an enamel work of Isfahan, which comprised a pattern of birds and animals on a floral background in light blue, green, yellow and red.
Some experts link the historicity of enameling in Iran to the Arsacides and Sassanid periods.

Iranian Food
Iranian cuisine, also widely referred to as Persian cuisine, includes the foods, cooking methods, and food traditions of Iran.
Iranian culinary styles have shared historical interactions with the cuisines of the neighboring regions, including Caucasian cuisine, abroad Kurdish cuisine, Turkish cuisine, Levantine cuisine, Greek cuisine, Central Asian cuisine, and Russian cuisine. Through the Persianized Central Asian Mughal dynasty, aspects of Iranian cuisine were adopted into North Indian cuisine.

Fresh green herbs are frequently used, along with fruits such as plums, pomegranate, quince, prunes, apricots, and raisins. Characteristic Iranian flavorings such as saffron, dried lime, cinnamon, and parsley are mixed and used in some special dishes.

Kandovan Village, a Rocky Architectural Oddity in Iran
Kandovan is an extraordinary ancient village in the province of East Azarbaijan, near the city of Tabriz, Iran. With its at least 800 years existence, this remarkable place is inhabited by 670 people and offers scenic beauty for its travelers. With homes carved inside rocks, some of them 700 years old, the Kandovan village is said to have been partially formed by volcanic remains from a strong Mount Sahand eruptions hundreds of years ago.
Another interesting aspect is the fact that the rock acts as an energy efficient material, keeping the house cool during summer and warm during winter. This is why most of the inhabitants here do not use heaters or air conditioning systems.
The intriguing architecture of this village seems to defy all rules and travelers are usually fascinated by its incredible slopes and irreverent paths. Recently a hotel was built, inspired by and connected to the “style” of the village. The “Rocky Hotel” features beautiful cave interiors with very comfortable living spaces. What we found interesting is that it takes ten months for four people to dig a room. Be sure to check out the video to see how these rooms look.

World’s smallest teahouse in tehran
Among the thousands of shops that line the labyrinthine alleyways of Tehran's Grand Bazaar sits the Haj Ali Darvish teahouse.
It's not the only teahouse in the bazaar, but having first opened in 1918, it's definitely one of the oldest. And according to some, it's also the smallest -- not just in the bazaar but in the whole world.
For those who find their way to this closet-sized, two-meter-wide cafe, owner Kazem Mabhutyan is on hand to serve up a wide range of teas and advice about their healing properties. Coffee and hot chocolate are on the menu, too. Mabhutyan is also a big believer in the marketing power of social media. He launched the Haj Ali Darvish Instagram account a couple of years ago.
He loves to post photos of everyone who visits. He says it's helped make his tiny teahouse into one of the most popular pit stops in the bazaar.

From a variety of pickles, all sorts of smoked fish in the north and south coasts; spicy samosas, falafel and hot and sour shrimp in the south; local noodles, stews/broths and different types of flatbread, this country is just full of wonders!
