Today (Dec 24th) the mountain Hraundrangi has dressed up for Christmas, glittering like a Christmas tree. Hraundrangi is about 20 minutes drive from Akureyri.

This is the time of the year when it never gets dark in Iceland. The sun just slides across the horizon, appearing at the end of the Eyjafjordur and then hides behind the mountains at the peninsula's end. This small timelapse is from a midnight sun photo tour, taken at a place called Svalbardseyri near Akureyri on June 9. Feel free to share :)
