One of our latest views from sea - Langanes, the promontory, and the orange lighthouse, called Langanesviti. Tomorrow is our last day of scheduled departures - our morning tour is sold out, but we do still have space at 19:30 if you'd like to join our last Whales & Wildlife tour of the season! After over 10,000 earthquakes in Iceland since Saturday, another eruption has just started! This eruption is taking place in the southwestern part of the country in Geldingadalir, on the Reykjanes peninsula. It's quite near to the location of the eruption from last year in Fagradalsfjall.

Kvika hefur náð upp á yfirborð jarðar á Reykjanesskaga. Loga þar nú jarðeldar að nýju, í fyrsta sinn frá því í september á síðasta ári, þegar hraun hætti að flæða við Fagradalsfjall.

This coming Monday is Frídagur verslunarmanna, which is part of the largest holiday weekend in Iceland. We at Beffa Tours will be taking some time off, so we will not be sailing for the next few days. We will resume sailing on Thursday, August 4th. Enjoy the weekend!

Our lovely passengers caught a steinbítur (Atlantic wolffish)! This fish can be found all around Iceland but is most prevalent in the Westfjords. A beautiful overview of Bíldudalur - and Vegamót Bíldudal still has some of the best burgers in the country!

The village of Bíldudalur has, despite of its small size, surprisingly many attractions. Not only does it have a Sea Monster museum and a unique collection of items from Iceland's music history, but it's also gaining reputation for having what some have said to be the best hamburgers in Iceland.

During the summer months we have 24 hours of daylight up in the Westfjords - this beautiful photo below was taken in Arnarfjörður, the fjord that we sail in for our tours.

Today is the summer solstice, which makes it the longest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere. In Reykjavik, that means about 21 hours of sunlight, sunrise at 02:55, and sunset at 00:03. You can also experience full 24 hours of sunlight further North, like in this magical fjord, Arnarfjörður, located in Visit Westfjords – Iceland 🌄
