🎨🐋 Whales & Art – A Tradition We Love! 🐋🎨
There’s always life and laughter down at the harbor – especially today!

We had the joy of welcoming the amazing kids from our local kindergarten here in Dalvík on a special whale watching tour with Arctic Sea Tours. This has become a lovely tradition: in support of their wonderful art exhibition at Berg Cultural Center, we celebrate their creativity with a fun day out at sea.

Thank you to the little artists for bringing such great energy – and to the whales for showing up too! 💙

60+ stranded pilot whales—ALL rescued.
When an entire pod beached near our home, locals, volunteers, and rescue teams from Ólafsfjörður, Siglufjörður & Dalvík united to act. With teamwork, water sprays, and rescue straps, each whale was carefully returned to sea.

Today we witnessed a breathtaking moment – a humpback whale mother and her calf feeding near Hvanndalabjarg, Iceland’s tallest sea cliff (630 meters).

The mother dove gracefully on her side, and the calf mimicked her movements. These moments – seeing whales teach their young in the wild – are what make our tours so special.

Three Humpbacks. One Deep Dive.

Sometimes nature leaves us speechless. From Dalvík, in the calm waters of Eyjafjörður fjord, we witnessed this moment: three humpback whales diving together in perfect harmony.

🐋 Why are they together? Humpbacks are usually solitary, but during feeding season in Iceland they often form loose cooperative groups, especially when food is plentiful. It’s teamwork – and it’s magical to witness.
