Summer visited us early here in Iceland. With record-breaking temperatures, we got a taste of July in May ☀️.

The glaciers glistened under clear blue skies 🏔, the green moss and lupine leaves burst into colour 🌱, and the contrast of white ice 🧊, black volcanic rock 🪨, reminded us why this island never stops surprising us.

Here's to more days like these! 🤩

Just past Hvalnes, this mountain stands out with its jagged ridges and moody coastline views. 🌊

It’s a quick stop right off the Ring Road, perfect for a walk, a photo, or just a moment to take in the rugged landscape.

🇬🇧 1. April 2025: Magma intrusion has started close to Grindavík.

The town of Grindavík and the area around are being evacuated and are CLOSED. Respect the commands, closures and stay away from the area while the area is being assessed.

The effects are localized and have not caused any problems regarding Keflavík airport.

❗️KVIKUHLAUP ER HAFIÐ❗️

🇮🇸 1. apríl 2025: Kvikuhlaup er hafið við Sundhnúksgígaröðina.

Verið er að rýma Grindavík og svæðið í kring, þetta svæði er LOKAÐ. Vinsamlegast virðið lokanirnar og haldið ykkur frá svæðinu meðan verið er að meta aðstæður.

Áhrifin eru staðbundin og hafa ekki valdið neinum vandræðum á Keflavíkurflugvelli.
